Here is an email I got from his ex-wife. I wrote inquiring about Matt's son Mason and how his is doing:
Hello Charles, Mason is doing fine. He is a bit bored. We relocated from San Diego to Washington DC area (a Virginia suburb). It's hard for any teenager to adjust. Although he has already made a few friends ,is still playing ice hockey, and skateboarding. He just put up a few pics in his room- One of him and his Dad. It is still extremely painful. Mason is so similar to his Father. They have all the same mannerisms, the same interests, and sound similar. Each day I am reminded of Matt. There is not one single day I don't think about Matthew and wish he was here to pass along his amazing talents, and everything else that made him so unique. Geno (matt's dad) had Mason for a couple of weeks over the summer while we drove across country...he was amazed at how much they are alike. Anyone who says genes don't play a role is so stinking wrong. Unfortunately Mason wasn't able to see the sober Matt. By the time he was old enough Matt lost his battle to the opiate addiction, and he was never clean again. I hate the effing drug! I am not sure if you know this but after Matthew became wrapped up in the opiates I had to see for myself what the hell the story was, so being that I am a nurse I went to work for a methadone clinic for a few months. This is where I saw every walk of like battling the opiate addiction. It helped me deal with Matthew. I stopped being angry with him, and tried to be there when he needed something. Mason unfortunately saw some pretty bad lows with Matt, and I know Mason will never go in that direction. So in his death he made a dramatic impact on Mason, and I have to look at this way, so his death isn't completely in vain. I know he agrees with me. Hope I didn't go off too much about my hate for opiates, I just wasn't sure if you all knew. So thank everyone who contributed. I used the money to begin Mason on private guitar lessons (something Matt was so hurt he couldn't teach him due to his accident) and he excelled quickly. His teacher was amazed at his natural talent. Mason continues to play, and he will start classes in high school. Thanks again! Brenda

Like I mentioned earlier, he & I hit it off immediately & used to speak on the phone on almost a daily basis. I've never done that before with someone I met on a cannabis forum (besides my grower buddies).
He was a cool dude & even though he was here for such a brief time, he made quite an impact on a few peeps. Not comparing the 2, but it almost sounds like the way Jimi Hendrix burst onto the scene...blew everyone's mind...then went *pOoF*. I still miss the guy & I'm sure he's in a much better place now...with no problems.

I'm really glad to hear his son is doing his own thing and that his wife(ex-wife w/e) is moving along as well.
Gone but not forgotten. Every conversation I had with him was cool and real.

Wowwwww
In the few months before he passed away, I spoke with Matt on the phone almost daily. He would call me everyday and tell me about his daily endeavors with his dealer and his weekly check and his oc80s, despite us living the entire nation away. We would always talk about meeting eachother one day. I knew this guy extremely well, met him on Shroomery, and despite us breaking off on terms that albeit suitably fit us both, a deal gone bad, its extremely horrible to see that he passed away right after we stopped talking. RIP Matt, i'll miss you. |

I never got the chance to tell him i finally found those magic books he wrote that i bought when i was a in Vegas on vacation years before i ever got on here or heard of him. Wish i had had more time to chat with him while he was here, he's truly missed.
R.I.P. Matt.

I would really like to find out the cause of death. Part of me is 100% certain of what it was but i'd really like to be proven wrong.
I cant stop thinking about Matt, I am feeling horrible about this.. I just looked and seen he sent me an email and I missed it Quote:

i was clearing out my PM box and came across my old messages with Matthew. I laughed out loud reading our conversations, Matt had a crazy unique personality and sense of humor. He was one of a kind...
