Fight the Power:

This one's a little rougher because I did it 15 minutes before class and it was homework due that day. I should probably finish the back of my hand and smooth out the shading along my arm.

I need to work on my transition from shadow to shadow and shadow to non shadow areas. Ideally I need to focus on making sure I leave nothing white as nothing is really that bright.

It's tough getting a grasp on the different shades using a pencil. It's very easy to make things too dark.

i got an easy tip for you osirus, your shading is good, the values and everything look natural. dont draw outlines! (unless the assignment is for contour line drawings). let the shading give the hand its shape and depth. if you remove the outlines the highlights look more real and the shadows give the appearance of depth

I'm doing my best to avoid it.

It's difficult because I've always used lines to make thing appear and I've never been good with shadows and stuff. I find it hardest to avoid line in places like the creases in my fingers because they almost seem to be a line on my hand in the lighting I was using.

Thanks tho! I'll have to try again and see if I can get that concept down.

Today kicks ass becuase I'm back in BC and in a new town running a B&B for a while, and this place is AMAZING! Can't wait to get down to some hiking. Talk with you all more again really soon.

I"d rather not say right out Mikey so I'll send a PM. It's North of where I'm living now in BC by 4 hours. The town is on the main road going to Rupert, but the B&B is about 15 or so mins off that highway.

It's freaking amazing. I can't believe I get to live here for 3 weeks. I have been left with some gardening chores, as well as being asked to rank some wood from outside in her basement, which is my pleasure to help and senior friend out with. She lives by herself and it will be my pleasure to help her winterize her home and keep her friendly feline company.

The last one is my freaking view out the dinning room window. jebus kriek!

That's some amazing scenery man. I don't know what I would do if I had to look at something that beautiful all the time. Seeing things like that makes me want to go out there and explore everything and really appreciate it.

Today kicks lots of ass because I just feel good. Nothing special happened, nor do I have any big plans. In fact, I've got a lot of school work to do tonight. But I'm just in such a damn good mood for some reason.
