TKA, while I was blogging my trip notes on here, I got a call from Canfor about my early winter work. So when I get back from here, I'll have a few days and then a sweet little sum in my pocket for easy work.

Most definitely. I'm quite familiar with the Colorado Rocky Mtns, as I lived in Denver for 12 yrs...but the Canadian Rockies are another story.
I'll bet they are beautiful!!

yeah I'm sure she'd let me stay at her place. we have a lot in common, both being the black sheep of our family. haven't seen her in years either.

also today is a good day because I think I might actually be able to sleep tonight.

Right on so we aren't chatting till 1 am again with Bradford Pining over old country tunes?

Glad you found a spot in the head for some rest.

I should go to bed earlier as well. I got a call tonite and have guests for 3-4 mornings, which means I have to cook alittle breaky and wash a few towels.

Tomorrow I need to mop, wipe down the bathroom and get alittle more fruit for the morning salad.

It's $340 in my pocket though. That is $200 shy or rent for the month.

My wife got a teaching job for 9 class hours at $60/hr And a contact for $600 dollars for 2 weeks of work.

I got rehired at Canfor for the season, with a nice raise.

Our older cat is eating ALOT better since she got two teeth out there were abscessed

And The wife says Rishi is starting to change orange on the bottom and white on his bum, and growing more. He's a freaking tank now.

As you may or may not know we live on like $15-$18k a year by choice and try to work as little as we can or when we need to, and it ws getting time to need it, so we can take it easy after January.

Today we just banked $4500, with is almost 25% of our annual budget. Which we'll need since we planning a trip to Europe in the late spring for 3 weeks, and visiting our friend in Latvia and he'll help us around Eastern Europe.

I don't know if we are getting it back, but in any case I'm paying it back or forward. I'm highly thankful. With our tax return to boost us in the spring, things are look up and up.

That is a dumptruck load of good news today.

It kicked ass into the next decade!

My face and my work are both featured in a local magazine. I picked up 6 copies yesterday. I'm a happy girl!

Sage, we live very modestly too. I just don't see any need in spending lots of money on silly shit. It's good to know there are others out there who live thrifty lives like us!

Man, you did get a shitload of good news, Sage...& it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I'm also on the same wave-length on living frugally & am not into a bunch of materialistic nonsense.
"STUFF!!" Who needs a bunch of 'stuff'? Enough to eat & a nice place to live & of course, some bombastic bongloads...that's about all I need!!

The last few days have kicked ass because I've been smoking more weed than usual.

Thanks Zotly

Thrift stores are amazing AL, as I'm sure you know. I get more compliments on my $3 outfits from head to toe, including a sport coat (which are horrible for actual sports) down to my shiny leather shoes. More than I ever got when I spent much more.

And it's all original looking, for better or worse some may say, I never look like anyone else. Just gotta keep an eye on the obits, for all those cool oldman clothes.

The nicest part, practically speaking, is that I can were pin stripped shirts to my landscaping job, and it costs me less than dollar to do it, and the respect and security I get and give to and from the home owner is priceless, compared to the sweatpants clad hillybillies who look like lurkers in gardens and lawns. Not to put them down, but I know that they have $.50 for a nice shirt, and it makes us all look so professional, in a trade that doesn't always garner alot of respect from customers.

ALSO:

I just want to say hearing about your sucessful artisty makes me hopeful for my sister, who makes awesome art and jewlery. If she just got a tax ID and alittle initiative I know she wouldn't be shit outa work right now and would have alittle money in her pocket besides babysitting money.

Supplemental income is my income, so every little bit stretched out goes really far. Rice and lentils with artichoke hearts is still a $2 meal, and the hearts are a damn sexay addition!

Thanks AL.

I know what you are saying, but it'd be a waste.

You don't need them, and when I see some of those pics I can't even believe it's me standing there, because I felt so at one and melded standing there.

Plus all the bear traffic makes shroomies a little more intimidating The Northern woods are tricky places. And there are also cougars up here. And they will hunt you. Good to be alert.

Congrats! Hope it picks business up for ya.

Congrats on all the lengthy good news post to you too Sage.

Today kicked ass for me because I finally met with my academic adviser and got all the BS that entailed out of the way.
