Today kicks ass because I got a lot of work done. I got to laugh in class, which doesn't happen ever in the particular classes I was in today. I found out next week I'm going to BOTH Phish shows. Then it's Thanksgiving. Stuffing. Turkey. Taters. Green bean casseroleeeeeee. omg. Stuffing. I'm just so excited.
A lot of shitty shit went down today but today still kicks ass. Def.

Last night I figured out my guitar situation temporarily. I am going to change the nut on my acoustic guitar put on a bass bridge and using a low E strings tune it to EADG like a bass. So for now I'll have an instrument in the tuning, albeit a new octave, that I know, and the strings will be set where I'm used to finding them.

What do I call it though? If it's set to E as a normal guitar, but only has 'bass' a bass strings selection on notes?

That made me pretty happy though, I've been thinking how to do that for a while and I knew the acoustic couldn't hold full on bass strings tension. Now I can sell my bass and amp. And I'm on my way to paring down what I own and what literally holds me down when we move here and there.

Have a happy safe and peaceable weekend.

Enjoy the Phish shows Scatterheart

Last week of work for the season it seems, which means I can go take some long walks in the 2 ft and gaining of snow that we have. The temps have been 0c in the day and sunny = awesome weather to be outside.

I hope that you are all doing well and having a good start to the week.

Blessings be with you,
Sage

Today kicks ass because I had a great morning and a real great past couple days. So much so that even though I'm spending my first Thanksgiving in my 24 years without being at my aunts with the rest of my family and am instead spending it in the worst floor of the hospital I'm actually quite content. Good good times.

Happy Thanksgiving you motherfuckers.

Hopefully you being there will created a little Thanksgiving for others Myxie. I'm thankful you can give to others when maybe their families are too busy or don't care.

Tonight is suppose to be my last evening of work as a full shift. So I'm not quite sure if that means I'll be brought back on Monday as one of the top producers or weather that is really it?

After that it's back to being a house-husband again. I believe with this time off I'm going to call back the spiritual counseling place downtown to talk about availability and or perhaps contact hospice about volunteering to talk with members and families. As well as get back into a 'normal' time slot of stretches and sitting again.

So I'm looking forward to having some time off soon

Then it's on to Yellow Knife Northwest Terr. to house sit in January for 2 weeks in the middle of the month. Woo hoo -80 here I come.

Yeah word man. I wound up helping some woman that was having a seizure. The nurses and PCA's and PCT's and basically everyone on that floor is incompetent/lazy/or just plain doesn't care and it's a floor where they stick people that are generally pretty bad off, totally a terrible combo.

So anyway I just was walking by checking some room out I was supposed to be cleaning and I heard the noise that meant the lady in the next room over had called for the nurse and I heard the dude that runs the desk and dispatches the nurses (PCA) answer and then get no response and he may have just hung up the phone. So I popped my head in and saw the nurse remote deal on her stomach and her just seizing like crazy. Ran to the desk and told the dude "the lady you just answered is having a seizure" "which lady?" "room 6, the one you just got off the phone with" and at this point a nurse stepped out of a room by us and slowly made her way to the room, kinda putzed around in the room, finally made a call to some lady for Ativan the lady had a PRN for, the lady (I presume another RN) walks to the room like a slug and they finally gave her the Ativan after a little longer had gone by. Just kinda left me wondering how long the lady would have sat there seizing and/or if the dude would have bothered walking down the hall to check her out.

Other than that I didn't actually end up having too much time to sit and talk to anyone. What little I did was with a lady who was just completely nuts and I just sat and had what little of a conversation I could with her and gave her some company and listened to her.

That off time sounds real nice man and I'm glad you'll be getting back into your routine with the stretches and such. The hospice work sounds like something you'd be well suited for and I hope that works out for you. Another house sitting gig eh? -80 or not I wouldn't mind one of those one day.

That's a good story man. I'm sure she was really glad you were there yesterday. I think it's a great day when we can be sure we've had a positive effect on someone, and I'd say what you did was the right thing for her at that moment. So thanks for that. I like to hear about people helping, which is also a bit dismaying to hear about the nurses response.

If you ever get up this way or that man, just let us know and you got a place to crash. After my Wife graduates, chances are we are going to headed up North or here to do some work. They need counselors really bad in a lot of situations. The pay is amazing as well and we can have the $50k we own in student loans paid off in a year give or take a few months depending on the contract. But you are always welcome to come where ever we are. The Northern Lights are said to be great up there, so I can't wait to see, since it will only be one month after the Solstice, it should still be good and dark most of the day.

Today IS said to be my last day of work this season, so I'm thinking of all the householdery things I can get into around here as well.

Hope you all have a good one and a great weekend.

-Sage

If it wasn't for guys like you, people like her would just go untreated & end-up either expiring/stroking-out/or comatose. Major props to you [& my wife, who's a retired Registered Respiratory Therapist, sends you MAJOR respect] for intercepting that 'very close' disaster.
She was saying that 1 time when she was working at the hospital here, some lady who had a brain hemmorhage, stroke, & was on a respirator for a couple YEARS was having a seizure & my wife told the nurses at the desk to come & give her a hand with this lady. The 2 nurses said, "Don't worry about her...she's old & better off left to die!!"
My wife freaked...got the HEAD nurse out from a meeting & informed her of the situation. To make a long story seem endless... ...those 2 nurses were no longer employed & the old broad didn't make it... ...she had been in a vegetative-state for years, but those nurses were trying to play God.
Anyhow, back to your ordeal = nice work, my friend!!
