it's when you take mass ammounts of marijuana products and you shoot butane through it to create the byproduct, hash oil. I think you can use ethanol on a stove if i remember correctly, but that can easily ignite. It's also called goo, and I'm sure there's more names
It totally depends though. probably 60-95% thc if I had to guess. I know some one that used to make it. When he got his shipments of the hash oil mids to use, he would sell my buddies and I oz's for $70 of pretty good mids. It takes a lot of bud of course. It ran like $80 a g some times. But 5 hits this size.... "o" would probably be equal to or more than a blunts worth of bud. |

Hash oil can be contaminated during manufacture by low grade butane etc.
I`m often a bit wary of it unless I know who made it.

Any contaminates are usually butane by products. Or depending on what media they used to contain the process(I think PVC pipe is usually what they do now days)...
The idea for honey oil isn't "Let's mix bad chemicals with weed" it's what chemical can we use to cheaply and effectively purify our cannabis into thc. The thing you have to realize is, your bic lighter uses butane or some unpure fuel as well, and does just about as much damage to you(resin hit anyone?). If you allow the oil to fully evaporate and heat dry it(tricky but I believe this is how butter is made) then it will reduce the amount of contamininants(s.p?) . |

Honey hash is alright. I'd rather make butter or hash though.
I did it with Butane and a copper pipe with a hole cap and little hole on one side for the butane and put a cheesecloth and hella rubberbands, a towel, and my motorcycle gloves on and ran the butane through an 0 of shake. You do it over a bowl and everything turns frozen and the bowl turns into a big thing of yellow butane (I'd recommend doing it outside) Then you want to put it in a bowl of warm water and you can watch the butane evaporate. It smells like butane |

if you know what you're doing it's high grade butane (refined many times like colibri, vector, etc.), and you use a stainless steel (or other safe metal) tube, or glass tube. Also you should be purging the butane out of the oil by heating it to get rid of all the bubbles of butane in it. Lower grade hash oil made from trimmings is often darker and has a sort of liquidy consistency, but higher grade oil made from high grade buds can be a little lighter and more translucent, it's also usually kind of hard, so you have to heat it to mess with it.
Butane is better than most other solvents for marijuana extractions because it dissolves more cannabinoids and less other things (like chlorophyll) than most other solvents, it also preserves taste well. Butter/Budder is just hash oil heated and whipped up, air gets into it and it takes on a different texture. |
