Wisdom teeth extracted..question

Ok I had my wisdom teeth extracted on Saturday and here it is Tuesday...Im running out of vicoden(is all they gave me) and I want to buy a sack to help with the pain. My face is still pretty swollen and all but fuck im in pain and dont have shit to deal with it. What I'm askin is; has enough time passed where I would be able to smoke without any repercussions...i.e. dry socket or some shit

I have had teeth out and smoked as im leaving the dentist. As far as i knew you just couldnt eat for an hour?

Either way go get yourself some CoCodomol (highest level of codeine in you can lay your hands on) and somne Ibruprofen and take them at 2 hour intervals of each other. As the 3 painkillers in them can be taken together.

I had a tooth extracted a couple years ago and I was specifically told not to smoke for 3 days. I asked about MJ instead of tobacco (as I'm an MMJ patient, I have nothing to hide) and my dentist said that it was the smoke itself that can impede the healing and cause damage.

So no, I wouldn't do it.

Bad times

Run yourself a nice warm bath and rest your jaw in the water as long as poss, brush your teeth (with sensitive toothpaste if you have any) and then after brushing dab some more toothpaste on the affected area. Also if you have any cloves/clove oil that shit numbs your gumbs up a treat. So does cocaine btw and has other painkilling properties.......... Not that I am advocating cocaine use....... well a little i guess.

The guy above does say 3 days so Saturday to Tuesday you should be copacetic at this stage.

go for something edible.. the smoke/ suction action of smoking can irritate your wounds and lead to dry socket which is probably more painful than what youre going through right now. get a fat sack of some mids and cook a batch of potent brownies or even just butter.

sucks man i hope you feel better soon

Make sure you have something with your Ibruprofen as they irratate your stomach lining and can cause damage if used without food over a period.

Best of luck man, I feel for ya, toothpain is the mother of all bitches.

well, lol i broke down and have a sack on its way as i type this...im just gonna try to keep the gauze covering the holes while i attempt to smoke....I know im putting my self at serious risk for dry sockets and probably something else but im in some real pain......The 5mg Vicodens the doc gave me would have helped a normal person...i had to take 3 at a time to get relief..Not gonna smoke ablunt or anything extreme just a simple 2 hitter bowl and then bed. Tooth pain is a bitch

I smoked against advice after having a wisdom tooth removed, and didn't suffer drysocket. Just keep a bottle of something (preferably water) handy and drink a small mouthful every few tokes, you'll be fine.

Now that IS a good question, I would imagine that would be OK, since the carcinogens in the smoke are missing, I would think it should be fine. Of course not every one has a vaporizer...

No vaping, no smoking

Vaporizer is not fine. The issue is not so much the irritating effect of the smoke, but the sucking action.

When you get a wisdom tooth pulled, it actually leaves a massive hole in your jawbone, with many, many deep bone nerves exposed. The socket quickly fills up with blood and clots into a plug that protects the hole until the bone grows back in like a month later.

In the first three days, the clot isn't hard yet and isn't held in there very well. If you create a sucking motion (like with a straw or a cigarette or whatever) or otherwise mess with it, you run a real risk of popping it out of the socket, suddenly exposing those bare bone nerves to air, saliva, food, etc. The pain is...beyond words. Way, way worse than the original pain.

For the first three days: No sucking motions, no chewing, no messing around on that side of your mouth. Avoid talking and eating as much as possible. It's best to just do the SlimFast thing for a few days.

If you want to get stoned, make cannabutter from powdered weed, and then melt it in the microwave. Stir it up real good and pour it down your throat.
