The only name brand piece of clothing I have is an AE shirt my brother gave me after he broke up with his girlfriend that gave it to him years ago. I've worn it around the house maybe once or twice, but I use it to stash my bong now. So there's a couple small bong water stains, that pretty much sums up what I think about AE and all those gay ass clothing companies that sell names(and clothes with holes in them).

I hate stuff like that, its dead plain all youre paying for is the brand name. loads of people here wear lyle & scott and lacoste, similar sort of stuff, fuck paying £60 for a polo shirt that would cost a tenner if it didnt have a little crocodile or a bird on the chest

Due to location I have a bad tendency just to buy whatever I like only when I need it, doesn't really matter the specific store. When I can, I will buy from people who make their own clothing, which is extremely hard to find without access to a credit card for online purchasing.

The thing is people will bitch against name brands and advocate something like Value Village (which has been speculated to share ownership with Walmart)or some other source that isn't a direct purchase from a major label company. But usually these places are still large companies with huge profit margins just the same. They usually follow the similar standards as the bigger companies and sometimes more so (ie: exploitation of goods or cheap labour outsourcing) just to keep competitive. All they are doing is appealing to a different market. Most second hand stores now a days have been bought up, up and down the line by huge corporations who desire a pretty penny for their services themselves. This is why they are more accessible than they used to be, why they are chains and why their prices have dramatically increased near par to Walmart standards.

So unless you make your own clothing or buy from sources who do themselves, you're supporting the same ideology behind big brand names, at a lower cost.

Jus sayin.
