I woke up yesterday to no internet.

I called ATT at 6:30am, and after talking to a robot for twenty minutes I got a tech rep who made me jump through interminable hoops, including rebooting my modem, and then told me they were having problems with their server in Pleasanton, gave me a work order number, and said someone would call back in an hour.

By noon I decided to try to find a hotspot and as soon as I was on the sidewalk I was hearing "no cellphones, no internet, no ATM, no nothing..."

The entire town was without phones, internet, credit card or bank transactions until about 6pm.

never talk to the robot. most of them automatically connect you with a person if you say fuck

well, at least it got you outside after 5 and a 1/2 hours.

it might be an inconvenience to you, but just think of the ppl who need emergency services like an ambulance or fire.
