not at all, the fact remains that the man's post was moderated for spam. so is he spam or not? why won't marijuanaradio's posts get moderated? mod discretion? so do mods determine what is spam and what is not? who can overrule such a decision, if anyone? or must there be some sort of consensus?

^ I'm not saying it's done with ill will, just a bad call. We all make them, but fessing up and repairing [which they are] is divine. It's not all bad, but you gotta admit at the disorganization, which is understandable. Perhaps more stickies and dead forums are the answer.
![]() and as verk said, threads rarely stay on topic and are for shit n giggles, but i don't see it as a moot point. I've said my crap before to other people already as well.

cool, so what about the mod interface and stuff from my first series of questions? that's what i was most interested in, because i do stuff with computers for my job so i know what it's like to "work" through a user interface to get things done and i can't imagine modding being much different: adjust something here, check some boxes maybe, click this or that button, input something here, etc.
can you tell i annoyed the hell out of my parents, yet?

from a technical standpoint modding isn't that hard, the interface doesn't change at all. There's just more options in the thread tools. What makes it difficult is the content and the character of the mod.
the admin panel is different though as there are many more things to consider, but initially you have the normal user interface until you access admin level stuff.

Basically the moral of this entire thread is Pharm Girl shouldn't moderate outside of the art forum.

Sometimes there is a fine line between spam and non- spam. Really it`s just a matter of taste.
Personally I`m interested in what you have to say and see no problem with how and where you have said it so far .

To Dear Mother Nature,
Dear cannabinol,
I did not see the original un-edited version of your posts, but I will comment on what I did see. You said, "I am not trying to get more business, so don’t come to my coffeeshops!", but on the other thread you also said, "99 % of dutch smokers use tobacco in their joints, makes coffeeshops veryyy empty..." “You should have read a post a little bit further down, where I answer to a question asked. Peace seeker asked: i guess the economic crisis has something to do with that as well not so much for the locals, but for the tourist industry in general I answered: “Not at all, in fact, the crisis made more people unemployed, so they have more time to smoke a joint, but no longer in the coffeeshop because in most of them there is an active tobacco ban. This means people buy their desired products and do not order a drink to go with their tobacco joint. We sell more weed, but we sell less drinks, the higher weedsales compensate the loss of bar sales. We are not relying on tourism, they usually show up when my regulars are on a holiday, so we can spend time on them. Tourism is down 40% in Amsterdam, I am sure the coffeeshops there will notice that big time. “ This shows a couple of things. I am not complaining about my business at all, and we do not uphold the smoking ban, so we have business as usual. It also shows my colleagues in Amsterdam need more business. My places are not empty, I was referring to the situation in general.” You also said, "Yahooka was the first cannabis forum I joined, used it to launch te 'Dope-deal-webcam from my coffeeshop." “True, those were the days, it was also my first computer, first webcam, aaah… In those days, all new links were welcome, so please do not hold that against me.” And, "and about our cannabis friendly mini-resort in Spain, which will be opening soon." “Yes, maybe because I am a little proud it is finally going to happen, is that so wrong, I did not ask people to book, we are pretty full already.” To me, all those things make me feel you are promoting your own personal business interests. That equals spam. “You took your stance, Thank you for being straight forward.” Now, on the other hand, your blog was informative and interesting. I too, am/was curious to the workings of a coffeeshop. The mods, in my opinion, are great. If a mod edited your post wrongly, then oh well. They do this for free. I'm sure you have seen the crap that goes on in here. They are most definitely over-worked as well. If you had been more consistent of a poster, over the years, I feel you might have gotten more lee way with your blog. As it is, I feel that you are using Yahooka to advertise your businesses. “The crap you are mentioning made me stay away, I did not feel like being able to contribute much to topics such as resin from bowls and smoking dried Ritalin. Some businesses just do not need advertising, I apologize for causing the impression I was advertising mine. ” Having said all that, I do hope you will stick around. I think you have important things to share and personally, I like seeing more wrinkles in the forums. “Thank you for your kind words….” With kindness, mothernature |

I would have to agree with overreaction from what I've read. Granted I didn't see the original post but a dude that's been here since 1999 posting a link to his blog should be taken a lot differently than someone with a few posts posting a link to a store or other website.
Either way, I hope you stay. |

divide and rule...
I am in the cannabusiness over twenty years now, it has been a struggle to keep doing what I like to do. I have confronted myself with every possible rule and regulation in the Dutch Coffeeshop policy.
I withstood Mayors, Police Chiefs, landlords, the tax office and even the french government. I did so because I had no choice, and because I would not give in to all these powers against me. I have been criticised by all these people and more, so be it, they are the Other Side... I always feel a bit sad when I am being criticised for what I do by the people I think are my allies against the other side. That's why the cannabis community willl never gain momentum to get things going our way. I have decided to give up on defending myself against criticism from people I think are on my side. Unity, what a great expression.... Thanks to those who do see what I mean.

When you asked for opinions, I did give you my 'gut reaction' opinion.
I think it was the "opening soon" that got me originally. Here in the US, that phrase seems to be used in advertising alot. I did not 'feel' your pride. When I re-read that line of your post, with that in mind, it doesn't seem like advertising at all. It does seem that you are proud, as well you should be. The next thing was I really do respect the mods. When they do something, I tend to back them up, as I feel they are bashed way too much. There is more to it than just pushing a few buttons, I would imagine. When you said "the crap" was what made you stay away, this really got me to thinking. You can see that I am new to Yahooka. I am new to this whole forum thing as well. I understand this more than I would like to. It's sad to think that there might be no place that people like me can truly fit in. Please don't be upset. The only criticism I saw was from me. I am sorry. I didn't mean for it to be hurtful, I meant to give an opinion and to then discuss. So, having said that, I am glad your links are back. I will post this and go have a look-see! mothernature |
