Posted in ffa for as many responses as posible... so some stupid idiot pushed my brakes to the floor and blew the back brake line, does anybody know how much that would cost roughly???

pretty sure the make/model of said vehicle would help narrow down said cost of repair?

Ima say $1069 because you will probably need the headlight fluid to be replaced as well as the center axle that controls your indicator lights and speedometer. Usually goes around the same time as the brake lines.

srsly, in high school we got some bitch to think her headlight fluid was out and she need to go buy some.

she left and went to autozone.

I was quoted $375 for front brake catepilers & pads. I went to AutoZone and bought everything needed ($89 including brake cleaner and lube) and had my neighbor do it for $40 for a grand total of $129. Big dif, especially when I just had to shell out over 4 bills for 4 new tires. Now I'm set for a while, hopefully.

You got to network to get things done for a reasonable price. Connections are everything as shops need to pay for all their overhead which is a lot more than you think so you pay a lot more.

how old is your car?

consider yourself lucky, because you could have had an accident if they blew while trying to brake from 80 or 100mph.

Anyways, brake lines arent expensive, but the installation might be if u do it in a shop (an hours work or two). Also you have to put new brake fluid (DOT 4 or above) and "bleed" the brakes (you need two people to do that. One pushing the brake pedal and the other one letting the brake fluid out so all the air gets out of the brake system)

If you re gonna do it with a buddy, you might as well change your pads (if they need to be changed), since you re at it.
