How long should a grinder last?

I have a Sharp Stone aluminum four piece grinder that I bought about six months ago, it has been outstanding but in the last week I have busted off three teeth.

I figure I've put about a pound through this thing since I bought it so I guess it was worth the $35 I spent on it, just wondering what you would think the life span of these things might be.

Happy Sunday.

The lifespan of a cheap/cheaply made grinder is going to be short.

Come on man...you know this.

I have an acrylic one I paid 15 bucks for that has lasted 2-3 years, I've also gotten ones for 35-40 that break after a few months. I have seen some that are 100% cast metal that seem like they would last forever, once they start jamming up just scrape out the acrylic ones or use a solvent on the metal ones. Solvent + acrylics = bad mm'kay so those are better cleaned with a mini swiss army knife or something similar.

I've got a £4 acrylic one that's coming up for it's fourth birthday, never broken a tooth, or anything, still goes strong.

If it was a cheap/cheaply made grinder I wouldn't even ask but Sharp Stone is supposed to be one of the good ones, no?

That's what I was referring to earlier, looks like you can get it sent to your doorstep for about $30 including shipping.

^^Hmmm...well then, I dunno. I have an awesome one that has lasted quite awhile (and showing no signs of falling apart) and I don't think it was that much...it was bought for me so I don't know the exact price.

So, yeah. I'm not sure what I'm talking about.

What you need depends on what you're smoking really. If you're getting some sativa that's a bit dried a cheaper all plastic grinder will be fine. With a denser wetter indica you need something mean to chew through those heavy dank nugs.

I bought a metal grinder about 3 years ago, and it's still working. Granted it's a little worn after so much use, and it has one of it's teeth missing, but it's still a good grinder and it works so. and I bought mine for like $25 at some headshop. But my bestfriend bought a metal grinder from another place for like $30 and now that thing is shit, and she only bought it maybe half a year ago.

I got a wooden one made by 'crop circle' some 6 years ago and it's still in perfect condition. i see no reason why it would ever stop working, thing is built well and it was only $20

I shove the whole, unmolested bud into my bong and toke away. No grinding necessary.

The Rev
this works great when you have bud cured right, but that's not always the case.

Grinders last forever when you never have a reason to use them

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.
