The GREAT DEBATE: The **OFFICIAL** Charcoal vs Gas thread.

I'm talking BBQs obviously.

Charcoal all the way. I've got 2 Webers. Can't beat the flavour, experience, versatility, not to mention just the overall awesomeness and badass-ness.

For convenience, gas. For good tasting food cooked right, charcoal.

Bingo. I absolutely love charcoal grills. In fact, I despise gas grills. I'm like Hank Hill's adversary. Anyways, I think if I had to cook for a very large party, or had to cook on it every night, the gas grill would probably win simply because it's cheaper and much more convenient.

hahaha I don't give a fuck.
I'm not buying charcoal and waiting around all the time though.
When I want a fucking hot dog on the motherfucking grill it better be quick.

Prefer charcoal 100% but it's too much of a hassle for a regular dinner so I use gas.
If I'm making a night out of grilling in my backyard with my buddies and some brews, charcoal it is then.

don't knock it till you try it - cheddar smokies rule.

its a highly refined skill to evenly cook a hot dog on a stick. takes many a camp fire to learn.

I have a gas grill and a fire pit in my yard, get on 95 north for about 7 hours and I'll make you one hot dog on each, I bet you change your mind.

Liquid smoke is good. Charcoal tastes good. Gas is convenient. I go gas because that's what we have and shit is good enough.
