its a trojan that can be a little annoying to potentially crippling to your computer. its also a real bitch to get rid of.

ive got so many files i want to keep, but I know its creeping around in here... I created a new partition and reinstalled windows, hopefully I wont have to do it again for another few months LOL

I had another weird experience, I don't know if it was the Virtumonde, but every time I logged in to my desktop, it would immediately log me out and it would do this for all the profiles on my computer. Thats what ultimately led to me reinstalling windows. I guess mac wins this round

that is virtumonde doing that. its one of its trademarks. you need to save all the files that you want to keep, and do a full re-installation of your os to get rid of it completely. you also need to scan and be careful of what you save because it can attach itself to files and reappear when you put those files back on you hard drive. there is software out there that claims it could remove the trojan, but its best just to do a full reformat to be sure.

You also may want to install a more proactive than reactive antivirus, like avast, bitdefender or kaspersky over norton or avg.
