I was so shocked that my gov would actually send me extra money. Every letter i got from bush about me being on disability and medicare were about making switch to generics to save money or just pure pay decreases.

Yeah , this is kinda a lame topic to everybody else i am sure i just thought it was cool that the gov actually gave me money...wtf lol

oh i know, its not much but to anybody who has been on disability for a long period of time for a serious medical condition u certainly know all about how the gov fucks you over and over and just how little you get paid.

So while the money really doesnt mean shit. Its the fact that the gov actually tried to do something right for once. Granted it was doing something very small....but fuck...its never happened to me before and i am sure a hell of a lot of others.

eh maybe u wouldnt understand unless u really were put through trying to get money to live from the gov when your paralyzed from the neck down or in a bad car accident....basicall y when u honestly need it.

very seldom does the gov ever do anything to help any one of us....that we can all relate too.

I do indeed enjoy a large new house Adventure. Most of that was funded through other means. I am currently on partial disability and it doesnt exactly pay a lot lol. Its essentially enough for 1 person to "get by" 1 month at a time.

The bulk of the money i made from disability was for the 4 years of back pay i had coming (do to the fact i was working a high paying job right before i was paralyzed). Also, my fiance's half of the civil lawsuit winnings from when her and my daughter were nearly killed in a car accident helped a lot. If you add the fact that over the last year or so i have returned to work as a project manager for a local Ad agency ( i come into work a few days a week and the rest is done online at home. So i am not a full time employee) then, yes i am doing well for myself and family despite being chronically ill. I am not ashamed of that in the least and never will be.

A lot of the people casting stones here lack a fundamental understanding of the US disability system and for that matter what health problems i have had and still have. Not to mention that no one on this site except me knows exactly how much i get paid through disability or what benefits i may or may not get. Any conclusions or insinuations by these people are based on figments of the their imagination or them just being butt hurt in general.

I do not post all the happenings of my life both good or bad on yahooka so to be able to draw a clear picture of my health, financial situation or anything else in that matter is impossible

to put it as simply as i can for the those not blessed with normal mental capacity the diagnoses of a progressive chronic illness does carry quite a bit of weight when it comes to disability status.
