I watched Cops 1 time. The cops busted some guys door down. They terrorized a bunch of children, destroyed the dudes home and laughed the whole time.

But it must be ok because they added this:

innocent until proven guilty

I don't find this amusing at all.

The cops could have waited til the guy left his house, then busted him on the street corner. That would have saved the children from being terrorized, but it would suck for ratings.

No. The stupidity you see is mostly knee-jerk reactions that are caused by fear. When you get lit up by the police with a half ounce of crack rocks bagged for individual sale in the pair of sweatpants you're wearing under your extra baggy jeans I'm sure you'd make some pretty shitty mistakes too. Not trying to rag on you or anything, I'm just saying.

People seem to talk big shit about encounters with the cops until the shit actually happens to them.
those people are the ones who keep your nubile ass safe from all the scary dangerous criminals out there.

its not that cops are assholes its that assholes love to be cops

so you end up with this ironic situation where the people who are supposedly enforcing "good" behavior become some of the shittiest humans on the planet.

which is why i have no respect for authority, until its earned.

I saw this one where they arrested some guy AFTER they wrestled him and they were like well it's good we got him, and they NEVER told the camera what they were charging him with(as they usually do). It really pissed me off, but I'm sure that shit got dropped in court. Some times you see a little bit of both sides on Cops and that's what makes it an awesome show.

cops used to be so much better in the 90s, mad shootouts and racism. now its all like routine traffic stops and boring drug busts. although i saw this one a few months ago where the cop awkwardly wrestled with a guy in a parking lot for like 5-10 minutes before finally getting him down (tasering him all the while)
