Nope, they didn't have penny slots. So I played the nickel slots instead, and the drinks were just as free. I actually didn't even drink any alcohol, just coffee. But I was offered complimentary alcoholic beverages multiple times, all while playing nickel slots.

actually according to someone who has been to vegas 5 times they give you free smokes liquor and food for gambling in like 99.9% of the casinos... though the smokes were given out in the 70s so... liquor and food.
no clocks in the casinos though... and i think you have to actually be constantly gambling to get them.

Nope, you can't smoke in the casinos, bars or restaurants. Which I find kind of funny since you can smoke pretty much everywhere else, 7-11's are awesome, there is one on just about every corner (no fucking lie man, you can walk out of just about any 7-11 and look across the street and you'll see another) usually with a thick haze of smoke coming from the 75 year old women dumping their SS check into the slots. You will get free liquor if you're gambling, win or lose, what you won't get is a decent buzz or anything that might have come in a glass bottle. You can drink outside on The Strip and on Fremont Street though. I have friends who live a few blocks off The Strip, by UNLV. The whole town is kind of like a transvestite hooker, sure looks wicked hot in the dark with all the lights and glitter, but it certainly isn't what you want to wake up to the next morning. If you go, its a two day trip, by day three you'll be ready to walk home. Unless of course you have ass loads of money, then it's fuckin' great! But, outside of the tax man, what isn't?

Most time I've spent in Vegas was inside the airport terminal watching old folks gambling at the built in machines while I purchased a simple 4inch turkey sub costing $6.49
Needless to say, the experience hasn't drawn me towards visiting again

the drinks are always free, but small and watered down. Order martinis with no vermouth and don't move from the machine. That being said everyone goes into a casino looking happy and everyone leaves looking pissed.

You guys seem to have a misconception of Vegas being a sleazy, hooker ridden, boozefest.....
it is. But it is sooo much more fun than what has been said thus far. There are dozens of clubs for any type of music genre you can think of. There is an abundance of beautiful women. I have yet to see better shows than ones performed in Vegas. Depending on which hotel you stay at, the pools are amazing. There are tons of free things to do there. And if you gamble, there is a possibility of winning a lot of money. I will go into more detail in a later post with pics of things. On a sidenote... Even in the nicer casinos, they give you free drinks. No free cigarettes anymore (you may smoke in the casinos) but there is a catch to getting free drinks. You have to have a minimum buy in of $25 dollars and most of the machines in nicer casinos are 50c-$1 machines. You can order whatever drink you'd like though and if you tip your bartender a few dollars they'll be looser with the liquor. The people going to a casino just to get free drinks have the wrong idea. Find a cheap bar if you want to spend the least amount to get drunk. If you planned on gambling to begin with, its a nice perk getting complimentary drinks.

Here are a few pics of some free things to do in Vegas...
![]() Bellagio's Water fountain show is like every 15-30 min from 7pm-12am and it is to different songs like sinatra. ![]() Mirage's Volcano show is about every 15-30 min. They time these first 3 shows so that you can walk from one to the next and so on without missing any or getting to the next show halfway through. ![]() Treasure Islands Pirate Show. ![]() Freemont street has a light show above the entire street set to music. This one is pretty amazing. ------------------------------------------------------ Here are some pool pictures..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ----------------------------------------------------- And some clubs ![]() ![]() All in all, Vegas is such an amazing experience every time I have been there. Too many funny, crazy, wierd experiences....:bigj oint: And i brought some bud with me my last trip....so much better

A friend of mine went to vegas to play poker full time and he said he hated the way people in vegas treated each other. Like if you held a door for someone they would assume you had an ulterior motive and were involved in an elaborate scheme to fuck them over or something. Whatever kind of a vibe he was getting from the locals was enough to drive him away and back to internet poker.
So I don't know if that means people in vegas are kind of sketchy or people from our city are total rubes, probably something in between.
