PETA Kills Animals | PetaKillsAnimals.com

Quote:
PETA’s “Animal Record” report for 2008, filed with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, shows that the animal rights group killed 95 percent of the dogs and cats in its care last year. During all of 2008, PETA found adoptive homes for just seven pets.

while obviously a very biased website, i found the facts very funny.

PETA isn't really all about the animals, there are better organizations that use actual intelligence and care for animals. PETA is more about its image and being in the spotlight

Fuck PETA, they make everyone who supports animals look like a nut job.
The funny part is PETA Supports The Humane Society, which as we all know euthanize most of the animals that come into their shelters; some shelter have as high as 98% kill rates. I volunteer for a very large No kill animal shelter its a lot of work, but 99% of our dogs find homes. the rest are just lifers... and that's ok with me

I agree with what you are saying about eco-unfriendly agricultural practices, but bear in mind, the vast majority of grain that is grown is not for human consumption, but is used in the production of meat. In fact, one of the arguments for vegetarianism is environmental; without literally billions of animals on factory farms to feed and water, agricultural resource usage would be greatly reduced, not to mention all the waste products and what they do to the environment.

That is true Rev, but if you yourself are still buying industrial grains and veggies you're still contributing to the problem, consuming and taking part in a very unethical system. I mean it's nearly impossible NOT to contribute to this fucked up industrialised society, but eating locally is definitely one of the changes you can make.

As a species we are totally fucking this planet over, and doing something like not eating industrially farmed meat but still eating industrialised soy or corn or something is essentially just raping the earth with a smaller penis.

If everyone did as I am doing, the "rape of the earth" wouldn't be an issue worth talking about. I can live with myself as I am.

If everyone lived as you did there'd still be a massive and unsustainable agricultural system. Even with zero demand for livestock feed, the sheer volume of produce required to feed everyone (and all those newly vegetarian) would still be more than this Earth is able to handle in any relative long term.

And - just hearing 'if everyone did as I am doing' - buddy! You live in North America. Think about that. If everyone lived like you.. well it's not even fucking POSSIBLE for this planet to handle.

You can live with yourself as you are because you choose what you want to believe. But the truth is that in the current system, if you are

A) Alive

and

B) Earning money

YOU ARE PART OF THE FUCKING PROBLEM. Hello Human. This is your condition.

Not that I'm not part of the problem too.

Anyway. I just had to call you out on this one man.

I think you're incorrect. Have you ever read about Gaia theory?

In any case I think it will take alot more than a bunch of gluttonous meat-eating humans to destroy this planet.

If no one ate meat, it would NOT increase the need for produce and other plant products. It would vastly decrease that demand, to the point that clearing new land by destroying forests and such would no longer be required.

That was what I was talking about. If you think that's wrong, you need to do some research.

As for your expanded context of the argument (every aspect of living in north america as opposed to diet and how it relates to human use of the ecosystem), of course no one is completely removed from damage done. Even a tiny "carbon footprint" is still a carbon footprint. The only thing you've called me out on is a point I wasn't making with an argument no one can refute.

I don't eat meat. In addition to relieving the world of a little bit of animal suffering, it relieves the world of environmental burden. I'm one guy, so it doesn't add up to much, but if everyone did the same, it would make a huge and positive difference.

That doesn't make sense. You can't plant a bunch of carrots in the middle of a forest. I mean I guess you could, but you would get "more" out of the land by clearcutting and uprooting everything in the area and planting rows of carrots as close to eachother as possible. Furthermore, if you are talkign about just going and planting random plant products in natural ecosystems such as forests, you would probably fuck up those ecosystems by introducing foreign plants into them and furthermore there would probably be too much competition in the forest (in terms of plant matter) for your planted plants to thrive.

Excuse me if I have misunderstood you kind sire.

they're the physical embodiment of the phrase "any publicity is good publicity". I watched a docu on them once, they're pretty retarded. Peep the founder of PETA, she's a real crazy bitch.

I'd support most of what Peta trys to do.. But if they honestly had a problem with what happened... wow, someone needs to slap them. Going on about a fucking fly? it can only hurt their reputation and make more people roll their eyes at Peta. Like their breast milk idea, I can only respond.. get some fucking sense.

I'm a vegetarian because of PETA, and I like what they stand for. I just wish they could be more like the Humane Society in the way they carry themselves.

This is pretty on point, however, this lady below has got how I feel about it down to a science apparently.

Pretty much what I've been saying all weekend. While I do feel they damage the movement and make rational vegetarians such as myself look like fucking kooks, they do however get their name and their message in the news and generally I feel it can do at least some good.

Agreed, but then you compare our canine teeth with that of even the smallest meat eating animals and you realize ours are virtually jokes. I don't think anyone would really argue that eating meat is unnatural, but to say we're made for it is equally as foolish.
