My hometown is full of racists, rednecks, and cows. It's such a small town that there isn't even a stoplight. It's a run-down, shitty little place, so I can relate to your feelings of dread when you go back to visit. I sometimes hate going there, but I love it too because the majority of my family lives there. It's very conflicting. I think that we both just need to appreciate where we came from, but also be glad that we have moved on.

Yeah I have no problem with small towns. It's just that the particular town I am from is rather lacking in diversity. I was contrasting my hometown to what Suga was describing. I was thinking that while she was upset that New York had changed, I am usually disappointed to see that my hometown hasn't changed one bit in 20 years. And when she mentioned the hasidic jew guys, I was thinking that there probably isn't a single jew within a 20 mile radius of my hometown. Small towns can be very charming, but the one I'm from is not much to write home about.
