no i had a great experience. im aware that cool people are everywhere and that no place can be a shithole unto itself.

but as far as generalizations go, l.a. is a shithole. its the pinnacle of everything wrong with humanity in the 21st century.

it was really cool, no i didnt see a docu but i checked out the room she died in. the hotel itself is a standard l.a. hotel, a little pool and shit like that. stayed for 8 days while i was at a guitar workshop. l.a. has its cool places and it has its scene but overall its full of fake douchebags and coke/meth heads

hollywood and beverly hills, yes.

you should really visit some of the museums and art galleries. pretty awesome shit.like the getty museum.

and there are tons of awesome neighborhoods, and excellent places to hang out and visit. just gotta be willing to look for them

if you actually expand and not expect places to be shit because of others' views, you might find it quite pleasurable.

yeah, on a bad day. nice selective picture. ive lived here over two years and have never seen it like that ever. ever.

also, as someone else has previously noted, L.A. is fucking massive. That picture and where the smog appears every once in a great while is downtown.

you can take any one section out of any one major city and make a case for it being shitty. period. so get over it, plz

sure seems like it......

and i know exactly where that pic was taken, my mother and i would go up around that area all the time and smoke, pretty awesome. maybe you just had bad luck. maybe i have amazing luck.

point being, L.A. is a different type of city. When you visit, you need to understand how immensely urban sprawl has effected it and really be willing to travel to see the good parts of L.A.

Never been to LA, but i assume -like any big city around the world- has its nice areas and the shity ones.

Get lost in the shity ones and it can get scary.

Have a guide that knows the "where and what" and you can have a great time.
