should i be worried?

so saturday night i was at my buddies house drinking and smoking, and at some point i got so drunk that i blacked out and woke up in the hospital. apparently i tried to ride my unregistered/uninsured moped home, but at some point i fell and hit my head and was found by a cop in the wee hours of the morning. i had a pipe and some weed in my pocket which was gone when i woke up (but not my zigzags or pipe screens). after the doc checked me out to see that i was fine i was released.

now its pretty obvious that i did some illegal things, my uninsured moped is one and two i had weed on me. i figure if they wanted to bust me for the weed and the moped they would have done so while i was in the hospital or shortly after i got released, but they didn't, and also while i was in the ambulance i asked the paramedic if i was in any trouble and he said i wasn't. furthermore, the cop brought the bike back to my house.

is it possible that i may still be charged for these things? also, i live in canada so health care is free, but its not like i just fell and hit head randomly, but it happened because i was blacked out drunk and stoned; will i be billed for the ambulance ride, or would that have happened while i was still at the hospital?

i'd like to think that the worst im gonna get out of this is some bruises and a busted up ride, but im still kind of worried...

btw this a hypothetical scenario for a fictional book im writing, any resemblance between the characters involved and real people is purely coincidental.

Really don't know how things work with regards to the health care in Canada, but I would assume if you didn't get in trouble for the weed then and there that you're fine. Maybe the cop was just didn't care to get you in trouble but confiscated it for his own smoking pleasure.

....then again, a friend of mine got a DUI one time and happened to have a shit ton of mushrooms shoved in a removable panel in the back of his car. The cops took them and gave him shit about em, but on the tickets and stuff it never said anything about them and as far as we could tell, his bail was unaffected by said mushrooms. Then like a month later a little bit before his court date he got a letter with a new court date saying he was being charged with a felony.

I'd be hesitant regardless of what a paramedic said. I had charges brought up on me that were a year old. This was in the US but still. Cops are cops either way. Don't trust them.

there has to be a way to check if youve got any outstanding charges... it seems like they would have to notify you.

maybe he thought you just had a head injury and werent drunk?

well there really isn't anyway to prove you were high or drunk unless they drew blood.
