throughout your life you constantly look for deeper meaning or purpose and then at some point you get old and stupid and die.

Throughout your life you force meaning only to get old and realize that you spent too much time trying to figure shit out and philosophize instead of doing dumb shit that doesn't matter. Because none of it matters. Live ya life

There are some things that I have decided are meaningful. Unfortunately, I dont get/experience those things very often, but the few times I have it has in fact been really great.

So yes, we create our own meaning and purpose and fulfillment and it can be changed too (though it might take a great effort to reprogram), but they can be achieved and we can feel meaningful/content/happy in this life, no longer searching, but living today.

Again, my problem is what I have decided will be fulfilling is particularly difficult, or just rare for me to find.

Plus more sex would be nice.

Guess it's okay to just enjoy the absurdity. I believe happiness is our core and our attachments to who we are, or think we are that is, just obstructs the process. Beyond self, is the limitless connection to the selfless. Then the barriers we put up, come down and we truely see we are just another rising and falling phemonmena, the universe sensing itself.

Cheer up Ted, your are beatuful and we all love you very much.

If you accept that we force our own meanings then you should take into consideration that just as nothing has meaning, everything does. To pick and choose is silly. Just as picking and choosing the things out of grasp to be "meaningful" is kind of self destructive.

werd scatter, well said.

Limiting our ideas about our self make us smaller and think we are safer because we have labeled our environment, and this hides the vastness of our natural state, which is believe is inherently 'good' and 'happy'. Outside of this little bubble lies the realization of the interconnectedness of it all. Things are only things in realation to other things, so everything is without a fixed or static state. Dependently arising into sensory planes.

it's very difficult to find a picture of a medical grade nitrous oxide tank with the label on it online. I'll have to get my camera fixed.

Um...I already found it. So, no.

And you're well on you way to the latter of your theory and you're not even old yet.

Ugh, I don't get it. People like you can be such hypocrites. "Life is hopeless and pointless I'm so alone blah blah blah whine whine whine" yet you continue to wake up everyday and consume precious clean air and water. If you truly truly feel that way, just off yourself immediately. But you don't. Know why? Because deep down, you know there's something deeper but you're just deluding yourself into thinking there isn't.

And why are you doing that?

Because you're lazy and scared. Or scared and lazy. One or the other came first and gave birth to the other.

Blah, grow a pair, smoke a bowl, drink a redbull and carpe diem, motherfucker. Even if the meaning of your life is to ultimately have no meaning, do it the best you can and with confidence, at least.

P.S. ET loves you, baby.

Edit -

P. P. S - This post assumes I know jackshit about your life, so take it for what it's worth.

i dont really know how else to respond without acting like a cliche of something or seeming like i am being overly defensive, because i am not and im not offended. i think you make some good points however i dont believe they apply to me because i am a pretty proactive person despite having negative tendencies.i didnt think i was whining when i made this thread, i thought everyone experiences those times when you think about the progression of your life and you have some insight about the "meaning", but its expected that i will receive some tough criticism for being a pussy and i think you are right

i also want to point out i never said life is pointless, meaningless or hopeless nor did i whine about being lonely. you are making aggressive douche bag assumptions about me. if i am the cliche hypocritical whiner, then you are the cliche internet douche bag.

True. But try writing a song with those lyrics and see how shorter of breath you are before you hear from someones lawyer.

Gotta find a purpose for your life. In your life.

There are so many people today to do the things you could do, why bother. There are crusades to take up, but they lack personal meaning to you, they just seem nice, or moral, or just.

But really, deep down, is there a meaning for you? A purpose that none other can fulfill, and is a good reason for you to perform, here, in the now. Its for you to decide. Maybe its because I have a biological imperative to live and justify my living, but I am inclined to think that yes, there is.

And hell.... do you consider yourself high quality? Or at least in some areas? Then though its untapped and unclear as of right now, the potential exists inside you to perform and pursue the ultimate meaning of your life which none other can.

ramble ramble..
