I spent a while trying to find the correct passage but couldn't. I'm fairly sure however that the bible says that his wife came from the south. The point of the Adam and Eve story is to illustrate why actions may be morally wrong for humans while being okay for animals. After Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, they gained the insight to comprehend that stealing and other oppressive actions were wrong.
