phrase the pot question like this:

I'm tired of politicians laughing off the marijuana issue. There's nothing funny or silly about it. Pot is less dangerous than alcohol and a lot more safe than cigarettes, would bring in billions of dollars in revenue, hemp would provide a new source for clothing and building materials, and it would completely collapse the drug cartels that smuggle in pot and bring violence and danger with it.
I know it's irrationally taboo in this country to be pro-legalization, but we have to grow up as a country. Please, without citing untruths and vague statements...can you explain to me why you have not come out in support of the legalization of marijuana while still supporting the alcohol and cigarette business in this country?

Nope, our radars are powerful enough to detect birds, bats and insects that are naturally flying in the air. We manually scan the atmosphere until we come across a target, then kick in the automatic tracker to follow said target to see if they have any interesting flight patterns. There's quite a bit of math involved, mostly looking at wingbeat signatures that get bounced back to triangulate their location, path and elevation as well as trying to figure out the general characteristics of the animal [invertebrate/vertebrate, steady flappers, flap-coasters, pausers, etc..]. Combined with topographical images from the National Elevation Database and Google Earth, we build maps of the natural air traffic criss-crossing our skies as well as figuring out how different types of animals handle a variety of terrain.

We also modded a 1.2 mV class 3A green laser attached on the dish that pew pew's anything we target it on, but since it disrupts an animals natural flight patterns we mainly use it to track our weather balloons that are gathering atmospheric conditions. It's pretty fun shooting lasers into sky and watching the beam roll across the starry nights as it keeps up with our targets.

Along with this are Infrared Scanners and Night Vision cameras for anything that can come within their ranges, but they have been pretty problematic and usually these small creatures are too high up for us to get a clear picture of them. The two radars themselves are relics from the 1950's and 1980's that we've modded and upgraded, donated oddly enough from a Texas military base. They are currently the only ones operating for biological research in the western hemisphere. I think there's two in Europe and one in Australia as well.

As of this moment we still haven't heard back from his staff, so it could just be them blowing smoke up our asses, but that won't stop us from doing our job. I do hope he comes through though.

Vermont is like a whole other country. There's hardly anything that's ubiquitous with the rest of America: Barely any franchise/corporate chains [everything's Mom-n-Pop, I swear Thailand has more McD's and KFC's than VT], dirt roads as state highways, as rustic and natural as can be, the people are among the nicest Americans I've ever encountered [though yes there are a lot of shitty drivers], and everything's dirt cheap. Not to mention the love for maple syrup and cheese, it's like a Canadian Wisconsin.

I'm working with pretty prestigious scientists within their respective fields, so I'm a little hesitant to bring up anything that would be unrelated and possibly belittle their hard-earned research, but yes how could I pass up such an opportunity?

Decisions, decisions...

I was gonna say, there's a time and place for everything man, and this doesn't sound like the time to be all "Oh hey, anyway, how about drug legalization??!"
They're not interested in it. They're there to see about the work you guys have been doing, not weed.

^ Kucinich is the one who saw a UFO.

All of us however have successfully completed the Geeno Challenge. If I can get Leahy to do it, yahooka will be the first to know.
