I know in a lot of countries you don't seem to be as into oil as we are down here, but it's a damned good way to smoke - you end up breathing a lot less smoke, it doesn't smell like weed at all, and it's easy to hide. It's also a good way to make use of crappy weed and your ladies' leaves.

Anyway, this device was allegedly born in NZ's prisons. Sorry I don't have pics of one being made, but it's so simple you should figure it out.

You need:

• One Bic ballpoint pen.
• One empty Bic lighter.
• One metal drawing pin (not the plastic coated kind).

Directions:

1. Break the pen and extract the plastic ink tube inside. There should be a section clear of any ink up the top. Cut this section off, discard the rest of the pen. You now have a small (less than an inch) section of clear plastic tube.
2. Break your empty lighter to bits. There are two parts you need from this - one is the little spring which pops the gas button back up, the other is the tiny brass nozzle where the gas comes out.
3. Assemble as shown below. The brass nozzle (thin end) goes into the plastic tube. The spring goes on the brass nozzle. The pin, which is your little hot plate, goes on top of the spring. Pays to bend the pin's spike so it won't fall off when red hot!
   
   
   
4. Now the other end of the plastic tube goes on a working lighter's nozzle, and another lighter/match/flame of some sort is used to light the gas under the pin. Gets red hot in under 30sec, dab your oil on and you're away.
