Roosters outside my bedroom fml
so i moved into a new apartment recently. Everything about it is great except that my neighbors keep fucking roosters 20ft outside my window! I can't ever sleep past 9 no matter how tired i am. this has got to be some violation of a noise ordinance or maybe a "no freaking farm animals in the city" law.

yes. nobody understands until it happens to them. they leave just enough time between crows so you can almost fall back to sleep only to be sudden woken up....and this repeats until you give up and get out of bed all pissed off. Last edited by Linkey; 09-09-2009 at 12:35 PM. |

I dunno....there is a rooster size Blue Jay that bugs the holy fuckin' shit out of me some mornings...
But yes, upon further thought, a Rooster may be more annoying...at least the Blue Jay can fly away somewhere else...although, he doesn't.

Chickens are fine creatures* you should be glad there is one so close to you. Not everyone is that lucky you know!

EAT THEM! I mean, what if they find their way back... Hey, toss a couple stray cats over the fence.

You can call the police and report it as a disturbance of the peace. If the law is anything like it is in Calif., the cops will go over there with you and you get to make a citizen's arrest on the chicken owner in question (because you can't disturb a cop's peace, by law). I did it once to a guy who had dogs barking behind my house at 3am. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, tho. Disturbance is disturbance.

Roosters may be annoying but they can be so beautiful(they make good fly fishing flys too!). ![]() I have a friend who has a rooster in his house. It doesn't make noise in the morning though. It's pretty much a cat, it walks around and asks people to get let outside and shit, it's funny and really chill at the same time. |

i agree.
but not as annoying as having the city's clock (or church) bells, a few yards away from your room...Can drive u you "insane". One summer i used to DJ in an "after" club, so my sleeping hrs (after alot of alcohol, weed and occasionally substances) were between 7am to 1pm. My motel room was right next to a church, that had a few of those huge bells that rang every hr, for as many times as the number of the hr (i.e 7 times at 7 am) ![]() ![]() ![]() but roosters can be equally annoying, since they start at 5:45am |

The crowing isn't bad if you just get up when they start. It's pretty amazing what you can get done in the morning, and then take an afternoon nap if you can or go to bed earlier. Roosters weren't programmed by the industrial revolution like humans have became. 8 hours a sleep in one sitting at nite isn't our natural cycle, it was we have to do to get by.
But good luck with whatever you try to do with them

some of my friends up in upstate new york live next to a guy who was raising 200 fighting roosters. The whole neighborhood banded together and got him kicked out.
