Yeah? Well I've seen it on some really nice cars in this one conservative part of my town, it's funny how distinguished it is really(it's a totally separate neighborhood).

i wasnt totally serious
i did listen to some of the speech, and i am totally pro health care for everybody, -so i wanted what obama said to be true -but i couldnt help thinking that maybe it was the same for people who listened to all the iraq war talk and wanted it to be true - that saddam was a big threat to everybody and the USA would be the good guys, saving the iraqis from evil and giving them a better future, that it would all be over in weeks and all be paid for with oil revenues - i think ppl wanted that to be true because it sounds so good - but it didnt work out that way at all, did it? so im wondering if all this healthcare reform talk is similar. i want it to be true because it sounds good to me. i want poor ppl to have health care, but will it actually happen in a way that is for the common good? will it happen at all? i dont know, and in the end, obamas speech is just more talk which may or may not have any effect or even any resemblance to reality. its talk, and talk is cheap. im not saying we should put our fingers in our ears and go LA LA LA i am saying that when ppl dont have to decide between going to the doctor and paying their grocery bill then ill sit up and take notice. untill then its just a lot of rich men in suits going blah blah blah |

No, thats the problem, when I was your guys age money fell from the sky. Reagan was in the white house, everyone was making plenty of money and I didn't give a rats ass who was manipulating what where.
We didn't care, we were a bunch of apathetic assholes who were in it for the right then. Fuck tomorrow, this is going to last forever! Guess what. I don't think its changed much and I blame my generation completely and I'm probably not the only one my age who feels that way, we didn't care and we didn't bother to teach most of you either. Now is the time to listen though, now is the time to hold our feet to the fire and make the changes needed to get everyone onto the boat.

^ meh i dont really buy that,
plenty of people did care, in your generation and in every generation. the fact that in the past 20 years we have let our debt run up a littl bit means we have to stop giving handouts to people and streamline our competetiveness so we can compete and lead in the world as we should and have for most of hte last century . |
