christian aka "varg" vikernes. he killed euronymous (i forget his real name), the guitarist for mayhem, over some disagreement about payment for a record vikernes made (which he claims was self defense). he's the man behind burzum if you've ever looked into the genre, and even released a couple records from prison; one of which was done entirely with a synthesizer and tape recorder. he also helped organize some norwegian national socialist party or organization while in prison. i think his sentence should be about up by now.

oh and he basically started the whole rash of church burnings that spread across europe in the 90's
