My family doctor told me that people often has mild food poisoning alot of the time when the flu is the supposed culprit.

^That's not good. Not only does intense amounts of Vitamin C not shorten a cold (not a lot of evidence to support either side, but the majority says it doesn't help), it's also straining your kidneys. For vitamins to aid they need to be taken regularly, not just when you get sick. Luckily it's water soluble, so excess gets flushed out. But paying for anything more than an orange is kind of a stupid move.

metaphore for alot of things.
Treating the symptom and not the root cause....too many cynical things to list.  Crime war and poverty to name a few. Better go to higher thoughts and get a debate going on how to 'fix' these.
