Four actual CDs in my hand

On a spur of the moment... nothing to do... mood I went to Best Buy and bought three actual CD's and Civilization IV (thanks SSD I had no idea it was out). This was the first time I have bought a CD in long time.... I had a great afternoon listening the CDs and embracing the album art, pull outs etc...
and the new Brother Ali album is amazing!
When was the last time you bought a physical CD

I remember the last CD I bought was last spring. I've listened to it from begining to end like 50 times at least, which is well worth the cost. $11. It came with lyrics and some pretty weak band pics if I'm honest.

I've boughten some vinyl records and cassette tapes more recently.

A year give or take.

I go with vinyl.

New Brother Ali is good. Haven't gotten into it as much as his other stuff, but I enjoy it.

Damn I totally didn't see the vinyl/gay option. Take my vote from more than a year to that one.

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

6-11 months.

Sometimes there are things you just can't find online from shows. But it was a local artist, and those people need the help for sure.

I always buy Sonic Youth CDs. I don't care how big or rich they are. I love what they do and have done. I upload the music to my computer and then pass it to a friend.

Practically never buy cd's, unless it's something super rare. Even the car has a digital interface rather than a CD player, as far as I'm concerned they're just clutter, when you have as much mewzik as I do.

^Speaking of music in the car. For the love of God if you have other passengers with you, put on a normal CD album from ONE artist. Nobody wants to hear your ipod on shuffle because believe it or not different types of songs played back to back uniformly ruin the whole experience of listening to music. Even if you have what you consider to be a good playlist, you're wrong. Leave it to the professionals.

I disagree 100%. Unless the group asks specifically to hear the whole album or only songs from the one artist, you gotta mix it up.
Gotta break up the monotony.

Also fuck that it's my car my radio my tunes

hahahaha.... "mix it up". Exactly! People don't like being "mixed up". They want to know what they're getting.

cds i buy in spurts.. like one month it might be once a week, another couple months i might not buy anything. last cd i got was PB Wolf's Straight to Tape about a month ago.

vinyl i buy whenever i find something i want or have been looking for, because you never know when you'll see it again and get another chance. last pieces of wax i got were that busta/janet 'What's it gonna be?' single, Mayer Hawthorne's A Strange Arrangement [got the limited Deluxe version with the crocodile cover and bonus 45 of the demos he sent PB Wolf], G&D: The Message UniVersal, a bunch of old motown 45s, and a $50 prized possession--> Marlena Shaw's Spice of Life [usually goes north of $100]

ya-- i have it on cd too. i got the chess [cadet] records special box set with her first two records Out of Different Bags and the afforementioned masterpiece Spice of Life.

to have it on a 33 is just something else though.. can't even describe the warm feelings i got when the needle hit 'Woman of the Ghetto' and that bass line kicked in...
