My "Log Cabin" Fantasy
Oh how I love to daydream...
One of my classic daydreams is one that revolves around an isolated log cabin, somewhere deep in the forest. This log cabin is all mine, I bought it and I own it outright, fair and square. I also happen to own a huge chunk of land that it sits on. Therefore there is no reason for anyone to check on me. No parents, no landlords, nobody from the bank. Nobody! And, being so far away, the place is dirt cheap to operate. Property taxes are like zero because there are no schools, no roads, no democrats, just no fucking city services availible of any kind! I'm on my own out there. But, being my own fantasy, life is easy. Staying warm and staying fed are my only priorities out there and I manage them well. Wood for the fireplace, a vegetable garden and monthly trips into town for simple neccessities and I'm set! The rest of my time could be spent enjoying simple things like: breathing and the beating of my heart. Other than those two things, I set my own standards! No need for paychecks. No need to mind fashion. No politics. No advertisements. No noise. Nobody and nothing! And this place would always be there for me. Just like it is in my mind. My special retreat. ![]() Go ahead and burst my bubble. |

I really thought this was gonna have to do with burt reynolds slowly dismantling a Lincoln log cabin and sticking each piece up your ass while whispering sweet nothings in your ear.

My dad did exactly what you described in his twenties. he still owns the land. we went to visit once, the front half of the cabin had caved in. this hippy dude down the path had a pretty sweet set up though, solar panels and shit for a little electricity (life kinda sucks without hot water). i could def see myself living that kind of life style, but it would get boring as hell after a while. although i completely dread the prospect of working 40 hrs/week in an office...
