i think most people dont take it seriously enough. for example those that take quotes out of context to justify greed and wickedness, and claim the bible endorses violence. i think if ppl were more serious they wouldnt say such things

Seriously the new testament equals (to most people and in general effect) = being a good person for dummies.

Just have to throw some theology in there so people aren't lost and afraid in this horrible confusing universe and voila, the self-help book for the masses.

interpretations are accepted as of such a far range that justifications will be followed, in violence and hatred if encouraged strategically. this is true for many sacred texts/can't be prevented.
