This is a funny reoccurrence I notice.

It's the non association with what you affirm in idea/belief and life style.

IMO,If there is 'A' problem with religion/spirituality/philosophy ,its the non-practice of your highest ideals. Spiritual or Secularly speaking.

In my own experience. I talk with people in the meditation group I sit in. And it's not a singular occurrence to find people shocked , when I have mentioned that practicing mindfulness off the cushion is where I find the most benefit, watching as if on it still. Like its revolutionary. And then I'm equally stunned.

I'm glad they sit with us, however wonder how or why people set that concentrated mind aside when they stand up

I guess all in all, not everyone that is shaving their head is a Buddhist Monk, so not everyone that has dreads has to be rasta.

What is the lifestyle of someone with dreads, in your mind, brother?

in my mind, i guess what i meant by lifestyle, is pretty much just the dedication and maintenance.
i also wanna be the poster child in my little redneck town for CLEAN dreads

also, as some one said earlier, lots (if not all) folks with dreads smoke erb.

I used to be SUPER into korn so I tried to be like my idol, Jonathan Davis, and grow dreadlocks. But, much like his, my hair isn't curley it's mostly straight so what I ended up with was dirty matted hair. It was downright unhealthy. I took the advice to "Never brush and wash with bar soap". Well it certainly did something to my hair but you couldn't exactly call them dreadlocks.

Just bad hair.

I guess "thick as fuck" is a blessing and a curse. One thing, you'll have a nice strong hairline. But then it tends to look goofy if you don't do something with it, you'll have a mushroom head.

and every one's excuse for not liking them is because they have the misconception that not cleaning your hair gives you dreads. parenthood propaganda maybe?

Here's a picture of me and my buddy(think his locks were like 5 years old at this point). Honestly I don't think their goofy at all... Shit his hair looks more maintained then mine.
