lol @ anybody that's going to tell you not to do it because it's only a religious thing. They need to get their heads out of their asses. Do what you please, chances are you're going to look like a dope and fuck yourself over in the long run when you realize a job is more than cheetos and beers and you're trying to get a good gig goin and can't. Then end up shaving your head. And have a big bulbous knotty noggin that people cringe looking at in interviews....

I saw this guy today who was walking his kid in a stroller and he had these dreads almost to his knees, they were all perfect size and everything. The only way I would ever get dreads is if I knew the person doing it knows what they are doing so they look good later on. I know a couple people with some pretty shitty dreads and that would just suck to wake up with everyday. hahah

I love it when girls look good in dreads.

So I was living with the parents when this thread was posted, and of course they denied the idea of their son with dreadlocks.

But now I'm moved out and growin out!

Well I can't fully speak about the specifics of other faiths, I know that the growing of hair is a sacred symbol in many faiths. Do some reading, see if you feel it.

How well can't you grow a beard

Like do you get anything that you could even have some more hair on your face? Sometimes you got to see what you got before you can figure out how to shape it. My beard didn't always come in so full, although I could grow a full beard for a long time spots thickened and so forth... see what you have if anything

Well I only have to shave like every 3 days and i just plain don't grow hair on my cheeks and i literally have NO sideburns. My oldest brother is almost 25 and he still can't grow enough for a beard

There are actually different types of dreads. me and my friends have classified these types into 3.

Natural Dreads - You don't have to put an effort for this one. Just never ever wash your hair and it will just magically pile up and stick together.
Parlor Dreads - This takes a lot of work. So you ask an expert to dread your hair with a crochet stick which takes a couple of hours. Then they'll burn the ends and add beeswax. After this, you can add accessories like beads, wear a beanie and the like. For this type of dreads, you can wash your hair. You can also use any brand of shampoo. This takes a lot of maintenance so you have to go back and have it retouched at least every 3 months.
Normal Dreads - You do not have to put a lot of effort with this one. You can go to someone to set up the dreads and you must never wash your hair. Just apply beeswax everyday. You don't have to have it retouched.

So there, I have a lot of friends who have dreadlocks. Most of them are really into the reggae rasta scene. I also wanted to have my hair dreadlocked before but considering that I am a girl and i have to shave my head bald if I would have to remove them, it;s just not for me. Also, I love the reggae scene but I'm not really "that in to it" so I'll just leave the dreadlocking stuff to the reggae masters/ rastafari.
