Family vacations

It seems like every year is a string of family vacations/holidays and get togethers. I just spent one full week with my grandparents and my great aunt. 3 elderly half senile people whom I have grown fond of. But there is such a thing as TOO MUCH time. And there gets the point where you wish them dead? Of course. But the memories are sweeter.

Haha

I don't mind most of my family. I don't see them very much (besides direct fam) so it's nice to catch up with them. Fortunately there isn't any conflict and I really enjoy everyone's company.

Thanks for sharing Merc.

I got to spend a total of 3 weeks with my Mom and Step Dad this summer. My wife and meant them going through Jasper/Banff on route to Alaska, and then caught up with them again when they came down from Rupert to Vancouver Island.

I can't remember the last time I did something like that with Mom.

Found the bonding time nice. Experiencing together means shared growth, and that, to me, is what seems to really keep families happy.

Last one I was on was when I was 10 or so. My Mom and Dad thought it'd be cool to spend a week touring civil war battlefields all over Northern VA, MD. There are lots of little skirmish sites along the trail as well.

So don't feel too bad fellas, as much as I like history, I wouldn't think many family vacations get too far out there.

Surprised there aren't more, in a camper for a 2 weeks at a camp ground, mentions in here.

I didn't think that was a choice when you were young?

Ha! I mean you basically don't have a lot of say about your orientation to family when you are young, because you get drug along no matter.

That's assuming your family is there to drag you along.
