Could you guys get real for once?

I've decided to quit smoking. In just the last few weeks I've been getting a lot of "signs" telling me to quit or face some impending trouble. It's amazing how life can give such clear messages when usually it's a blur.

You guys are victims of reverse psychology. Who does like the government waging a war and then exaggerating at the same time? So let's believe the opposite of everything they say? Not me. I've accepted the following things:

-Marijuana causes depression, anxiety, paranoia, and psychosis.
-Marijuana is addictive, both psychologically and physically
-Marijuana alters perception of one's life, hindering their understanding of the cause of their problems
-Marijuana increases aggression, contributes to anti-social behavior, destroys friendships and lives

I think a lot of people on here won't think twice about what is causing them problems (if they have problems). Yahooka is a bad influence if this is the case. Not once have I ever heard someone attribute any difficulty to this drug. There is no unbiased information on the net or anywhere, and you have to find out for yourself. Hint: It will be easier to figure out once the thc is out of your brain.

Just because you're a fuck-up doesn't mean the rest of us can't appreciate smoking pot and not suffer adverse side effects.

^ You are 19 and it's easier to deal with the drug. As you get older you will become more prone to the detrimental effects.

You will also notice less people doing it and becoming less accepted in your circle.

in my experience people who can smoke pot all the time without side effects are in the minority, all of my friends smoked weed all the time from school onwards but not many still smoke it now

I actually spend a lot of time with people older than me, all of whom smoke pot pretty regularly. It's a townie thing, so you probably wouldn't understand.

But I know what you mean. Most of the people my age haven't grown out of smoking yet, but I know which of my friend will and won't keeps toking. I'm joining the military in a few years so I figure I'll either grow out of it then, or jump right back into it after.

If you accepted all of those non-substantiated claims and kept smoking, maybe you're the one who needs to get real.

You're right. I've been saying, "one more time" for the last 10 years. I'm fed up with it (lying to myself).

i think for some, what youre saying is true. i think weed can make underlying problems come to the surface after a while.

youll feel alot better smoking weed if you have the rest of your shit squared away, which is, imo, the ideal order of doing things. otherwise i think youll feel depressed and anxious etc

I don't smoke hardly at all anymore. The occasional bowl is about it for me. I understand what you're saying but I think you're kinda taking it to the extreme.

Like you saying that marijuana increases aggressive behavior and destroys friendships and lives..... Come on now..... Really? I think that's a little much. At the same time I guess it all depends on what type of a person you are. Me personally I have never had these specific problems. if anything smoking pot has helped me decrease my aggressiveness and has helped me make friends with some unlikely people.

Maybe life is telling you that you need to quit. If you have (or anyone else has) such strong feelings about anything then by all means cut whatever it is out of your life. But yahooka is in no way a bad influence. I have seen members support each other throughout the years. If you want to quit we are behind you 100%. If that's what you want then go for it. But to sit here and call us "victims" and to say that you have never once heard anyone attribute any problems to smoking weed then I have to say you are ignorant and that you are taking it a bit too far

How about, 'Do the drug, don't let the drug do you'.

Which, now that I think about it, is what SOK is saying.

Take a 'smoke break', jump off the bus for a little while and see what happens.

I don't think I will ever quit smoking pot permanently.

How MANY things in life can we say this about? Let's edit the quote.

Although I highly disagree with cannabis being physically addictive, it can become a social thing to get caught up in, like having too many cups of coffee, or smoking more cigs than you would by yourself.

I feel a lot of people smoke so much because of habit, and would smoke less if they didn't feel so bored OR there actually was something to do (smalltowns)

These two paragraphs are in a way psychologically addictive, as it keeps you 'in' in the circle of friends or you like the way it makes you feel. But like I said, that isn't original to herb.

SOK- I wish you well again, and hope you find some peace and solace in your choice. I think we all support you in your choice, your 'whys' aside.

Best wishes,
Sage

that's me. i smoke a quarter in two days because my entire life consists of working and just sittin on the computer. i live in a town of maybe one thousand population. there is NOTHING to do around here, except to pick up a sport like skateboarding or something. or the bowling alley.

and before i started smoking weed i was a pretty bad ass lil kid, always gettin introuble, talkin back to every one, gettin in fights left and right at school. but it truly seems like not only did smoking doja make me more passive and less aggressive, it did have the anti-social effect (but that's the only of your "facts" i find true) but it seems that was a good thing. i enjoy time by myself and now that i don't run around chattin with every one every where 24/7.. i never get into any sort of trouble. so thank you marijuana.

Psychosis? Come on man.......

-Marijuana alters perception of one's life, hindering their understanding of the cause of their problems
No, you just have personal underlying problems. you can keep me out of your psychotic life please, thanks.

Am I wrong here?

Be the controlling factor in your own life man, believe it or not some shit in this world really IS your fault.

I bet there is something you could do while you're high. It's warm a lot of the year in that part of the world, no? Do you just ever walk around and talking with friends while you walk, get a bite to eat? I take it you aren't an outdoor enthusiast? I don't know what your topography looks like in MS, but can't you go rastle a gator or something?
