No, because most of us are comfortable with who we are and don't need to fantasize about the woulda-coulda...Confidence is making the reality that you want...

Creativity comes in every expression, including "making pretty"...You are coming off as a queen who wants to play dress up and pretend...Most kids get over that kind of fantasizing when they leave adolescence...Again your lack of confidence is being transferred onto the group and you see your lack of creativity in others...

I at least like to cultivate myself into something memorable.

i don't understand what you're defending. that someone should seek to be indefinable?

someone could point to this entire forum and call us a bunch of pot smoking hippie stoners who live in our moms basements and eat cheetos all day. and that would be more or less true of us. whether or not we've made the conscious effort to be so.

you invest way too much into image bro. imo you're quirky enough to move past that and remain interesting. some call it "growing up"

thank you sir. just to be clear i am completely happy with myself. i'm sure there are people out there who would like to be like me.

but i also see some people and think "i bet he's fun to be". cause i admire their style and grace.

that's why vampires are so cool right now. who wouldn't love that persona?

The only typification yet to be played out, is what's individual and real.
Running with someone else's brand or classification standards is all overdone by now. Factoring in identity comes naturally via staying true to oneself unconditionally, regardless that maybe your appearance/lifestyle is not exquisite or has no popular marketing potential.

reminded me of this episode

i think this is how it is for a lot of gay people, they put everything they have into being gay, projecting their gayness, with a gay job (working in the fashion industry for example) talking in a gay way, active member of the gay community, watching gay tv shows and listening to gay music, basically doing everything possible to be as gay as possible.
all of this effort leaves little/no room for their own authentic self.

theres other roles ppl do the same thing with, "cultivating themselves" but i think generally such ppl are only attractive to those who are not interested in personal authenticity

I was having a really similar conversation with somebody about this last night. I don't believe all gay men to be really effeminate but why do so many of them talk like that? I'm not uncomfortable with homosexuality, but it just raises questions because I know there was a point in their life where they didn't talk and act like that and they were just as gay then as they are now....so what gives? If would seem a lot easier to just to wear a shirt that say "I'm gay" than going through all that trouble of recreating your personality so everyone knows that you're gay. I only know a couple of gay dudes that act like totally normal people, I mean yeah, they like gay stuff but it's just normal for them. I can't think of anything I do solely because I'm straight other than like women.

straight guys can act the same. many are into cars/guns/etc in the same way for similar reasons. doing things to affirm something to oneself and others is only natural for a social animal such as we, though we've long passed the point where it benefits our survival

I like to shoot guns, but I don't see why I wouldn't like to shoot guns if I happened to like to blow dudes too.

Ok point agreed that its good to be an individual. But youre not hearing what I'm saying. I'm saying that this thread is just fantasy. Its like asking "If you had 10,000,000 dollars what would you buy?" and you saying "Dude, Only assholes want to be rich.". If he was asking "What is your image?" that would be lame. But he's asking if you've ever wanted to live another life, or have people see you differently..Like a nerd wondering what it would be like to be a jock, or a timid person imagining what it would be like to be outgoing...Its JUST fantasy....Like W.O.W.

1.More kitties
2.Balls of yarn
3.Kitty litter
4.A sun lamp
