Did Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool dump my Winamp?
So like, yeah...
Could the monthly update trash the whole thing if it found something corrupt in the player? It was there when I booted up and then the update asked to restart and when it rebooted it was gone. Went in and ran my CrapCleaner and removed what traces may have been left behind. Threw out the skins and plug-ins folders and scanned my music folder which came up clean, tossed the installer I had and downloaded a new version. Well shit then, yay if it did what it was supposed to do but boo if it didn't. I could have used the time it took to do something important... Like, rubbin' one out or making a sandwich. ![]()

I doubt it, unless your Winamp was infected with some sort of malware in which case Windows Defender would attempt to clean it.
Otherwise it's a well known third party software and Windows Update cannot wipe it out just like that, under no other circumstances. |

anything is possible yo, i have had so many random bulshit things happen with my computer bc of viruses and malware.
ive had it not turn on, ive had it keep sending me to the same site now matter what i do, all sorts of weird shit. luckily a re-boot in safe mode and running of some software that i find online always seems to fix it. mrt.exe is a damn nice prog it found a really bad trojan in my computer than nothing else noticed and removed it for me nice and easy. |
