The N word can be used in a derogatory way, but when said by fellow Newfoundlanders it's usually a term of endearment.

I have been discriminated against because I am a Newfie however.

I don't use it. Usually Newfie isn't followed by 'the smartest person I ever met' It's defiantly used as the dumb wheel of a three people walk into a bar joke.

That is funny man. Newfoundland is really far away from everything, so at least they have an excuse, in the most loving sense of the word. From what I've seen living in the North or out reaches of Canada it's entirely reasonable things like screeching evolve.

That episode of south park made my dad crack the fuck up..The newfoundlander who just wants sadam hussein out of office so he can fuck little boys again or something lol. My dad also had a "Night before christmas" book but it was told in a newfoundland type way haha...Its not funny unless you see it though, so I dont know why I brought it up
