Being on one of those guard details must be the shit. Seriously though, why even get a guard detail, just mount some machine guns around the railings and fuck em up if they start shooting at you.

It's almost impossible to have guns of any kind on a commercial vessel. No company will insure it because...I don't know, lets say a gun goes off and hits a gas tank, or someone accidentally shoots off their fingers, or they shoot at someone they think is a pirate and kill him and he winds up not being a pirate. No sane insurance company would even consider that liability. It costs them less to just give up the ransom money lol.
