i love my family very much, and we are having a few of them over from christmas,
my mothers family lives many hours from us, so its good to see them again.
so that part of christmas i enjoy.
the family time

but since i have a eating dissorder the medal has a black side,
there is going to be so much food!
all day, every day.
blah, i hate gaining weight in the christmas week
last year i was very sick and tried to end it all.... :/

so my mind is set up to that this christmas is going to be GOOD!

Christmas, like any other holiday, is what you make it.

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

I just tell my family that I am spending their money for gifts on charity and they are pretty cool with that. Most agree they have enough 'stuff' and that they are glad I could do something with the money they never had or thought to spend their own on.

This isn't to say I don't buy them gifts throughout the year when we go places. They are lovers of coffee mugs and t-shirts, and that suites them just fine to get during the year, rather than as a Christmas present.

My wife and I, personally, celebrate the winter solstice. Although I usually go to a candle light service on the 24th, and celebrate the birth of JC on the day it was placed, as well as to honour my ancestors who have worshiped Him, before me.

We had snow for the first time this season. December 1st. Oddly fitting I guess.

id say.

not only the consumerist deal, but i mean, all those lights that are just there, building up the hydro and feeding the night sky more light pollution.. like, if some people would just realize that xmas isnt about out doing your neighbours display... maybe atleast a little energy would be saved and just little things like that, that build up to one big deal eventually...
