What's your take on kids as young as ten being tried as adults?

I think its wrong simply because they seem to lack the mental capacity. Not that they aren't aware of what they are doing, but block out any consequences of doing such senseless acts.

yea, it seems like someone else needs to hold some blame for him having access to it. surprised they didn't mention anything about that.

What really surprised me was the black dude actually explaining the otherside a bit. Usually the news wouldn't do that making it seem that the kid was already convicted.

On another note, I think the father is being naive and the kid is lying. But I don't really know any of the facts, it's just a feeling.

I think the decision on whether to try someone as an adult should be on a case to case basis but that's probably unrealistic.

Putting someone away at 12 and letting them out at 21 is like breeding a criminal, last time I checked the government was against non-whitecollar crimes. Do judges get paid on commission or something?

i totally agree, I can't imagine what the families are going through. His father is quite naive to think his son would never lie. I just think that he can't possibly think his son would do something like that. Most likely was jealous of his father's girlfriend, sounds like a arguable motive (but then again a motive isn't required to prove guilt).

In cases where children commit acts of violence like this one here, the kid shouldn't take the blame. I blame the parents for whatever they did to allow a kid to pick up a shotty and use it. No 12 year old needs to be in jail for something they don't have the mental capacity (imo) to fully understand.

How will we ever defeat the zombies if the children do not have shotguns? You can't expect a 10 year old to handle anything more than a small 20 gauge. If anything we need more youth model guns. I propose we have a gun in the hands of every child within the next 5 years.

i dont think the kid deserves that. when you're 12 years old your mind isn't even fully developed. to have the state punish a mind that isn't even fully ripe to that extent just doens't seem right.

I say get the people involved to decide and let whatever kind of resolution/bloodbath that needs to happen take place.
