The Rev 04-20-2010 05:35 PM

When I hear the name kirk, I figure his parents were drinking a couple of glasses of soda through straws, trying to think of a name for their kid. One finishes, and the other says, "I got it!!"

you may as well just call your kid 'Generic' if you're going to call him 'John'.

i mean, it's the official name used to give the unidentifiable identities.... [John Doe].

I didn't actually get riled up, and I'm well aware that my name isn't the pinnacle of originality. I'm also quite aware of John Doe. Either way I'm perfectly content with my name and was named after my dad. In all honesty though and not really pertaining to my name but some things are classics and/or generic for a reason, a lot of these new school kinda names are just fucking terrible.

Bearsy 04-20-2010 10:40 PM

I like my name. Darien.

John F. Kerry 04-20-2010 10:43 PM

i personallly dont consider too many names really gay except like periwinkle or gaylord

whats a name? ive known cool people called anything. got like 4 friends name john :D

crookedhatinator45 04-20-2010 11:04 PM

myx, i'm not trying to 'rile you up' or anything..? friends still?

this is the lame name thread, not the 'i hate all posters with this name' thread. not a personal attack by any means. same with if there's an esther or ken or kent here. or a parent who named there kid mercedes, jeeves, alfred, ralph, etc.

PS- i think Toyota sounds like a sexier name than mercedes if you take the actual cars themselves out of the equation and just consider how the respective names sound.

crookedhatinator45 04-20-2010 11:06 PM

empreza would be kinda hot too

crookedhatinator45 04-20-2010 11:20 PM

I said riled up because I said fuck you jokingly and it seemed like you were explaining his stance, the the riled up wasn't directed at you. And word, I'm not butthurt or anything, even if it was a I hate all posters with this name thread.

turmaline 04-21-2010 09:58 AM

just seems odd to me.

I took a photography class when I was like 12 years old and everyone else in the group was about 8 years old. There was a kid named Pierce, and seemingly had severe ADHD or something of the like; and his voice did pierce your ears. every time he talked.

Sir-Ex 04-21-2010 03:16 PM

Stupidest fucking name that you see young kids with way too often now: Nevaeh

wellfleation 04-21-2010 05:57 PM

How about all those stupid Hollywood names that scream, "I want my kid(s) to be famous too!" Mercedes is one one them, or Paris. Usually they are weirder than that though. I not familiar enough with movie star's kids to rattle off a few of the goofy ones I've heard.

Words have many meanings. Interpret what was said in a way that makes you feel better about yourself. Some people, like yourself, find this as a way of coping psychologically.

wellfleation 04-21-2010 09:40 PM

Yeah, typical childish name calling.

The SARS Volta 04-21-2010 09:56 PM

Kirk is pretty unforgiving but Dirk is a bit worse. Can't imagine why this would be a legitimate full name

Nevaeh is allegedly growing popular lately (it's 'heaven' spelled backwards). Not traditionally lame, just embarrassing.

Lyle, Henry, Rudy, Randy...don't understand why people willingly go by these names even if it's their original.

For women...Peg, Janice and Linda win the lame IMO

Horrible name for a human, but i think that would be a great name for a dog or other pet lol.

It is very fun to say.
