Looks like you're going to need a waterfall to make a plunge pool.

Plunge pool - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

gis ftw

and how are you going to finish it out once you're done digging.

/always loved digging as a kid

You better make sure you aren't digging through some cable or utility lines either.

I'm sure he doesn't have to worry about that.

Just don't decide to deviate from your plan, and build a hidden underground bunker where you destroy "demons".

BTW, that yard looks like an oasis. Nice work.

<~~~~~Clearly didn't know that utility lines and gas lines weren't a concern.

Far out, man.

Thailand.

More digging a done.. it's about 1/2 of the depth.. that took me about 15 hours across a few weeks. Feeling a lot stronger in my upper body. I try to wait for it to dry out in the sun and then chip out big chunks which I can just carry down the side of the house. I can't wait to jump in it! Still a long way to go though...

Thanks!

I'm going to make it a natural swimming pool... the idea that no chlorine will be used. Instead plants in a separate section of the pool and in the stream will act as a filter for the water. A few small pumps will create falls to oxygenate the water.

It's an experiment for sure.. If it doesn't go to plan I can always just make it a pool for the fish. I am not willing to spend much on this at all.. as you can see from me digging the hole myself.. when I could get it done for about hundred dollars. Also pool filtration equipment and chlorine are expensive too.. even here.

Check out this link for natural swimming pools.. there sure are some beauties out there! Woodhouse Natural Pools

Also my own design from MS Paint.. keeping it professional! heh

Sounds bad ass, I like the no chlorine/agricultural idea. This is def in my to-do list.

^Cool!

Its been raining here for like 2 weeks straight.. so not much digging progress. My side project is going to be some sort of water fall/feature. Anyone got any good ideas? Something I can build myself? Ideally it would help to aerate the water as much as possible.. maybe multistage falls? or some sort of tipping bamboo fall...? Hmmmm. Also the prices people charge for some of these things are ridiculous!
