influence isnt taking the same melody line and lyrics, thats plagarization by definition

influence is taking the style or feel of an artist or song and applying it in your own way with creativity

i mean look at eric clapton. hes a great blues artist, he'll cover a song and give the artist credit, and he has the ability to create amazing original songs as well.

jimmy page/robert plant just plain stole this song and many others and thats not creative or original

Yo- guys im not saying they were a horrible band. just terribly unoriginal and uncreative, and certainly not great artists. The ability to rock the fuck out is an entire different skill set than the ability to compose good music. I know tons of people that are amazing musicians that couldnt write a tune for their life.
