Do you hope to be "successful"?
This sounds like a BS lecture thread like I'm secretly doubting or judging you. I'm just looking for somebody to relate to generally about dreaming of being successful. Happy? Rich? Just whatever it means. I know I treat it like a lottery and not a sink-or-swim type situation. I wanna "get lucky". But also my rationale is that I'm smart enough to answer when opportunity knocks. I'm definitely not interested in the University-Debt-Internship-Career model of success. I'm more like the "Work hard - Be charming - Ask questions" mode.

I'd love to be successful, I've had a plan to make that a reality, but so far my plan has not come to fruition. I'm not sure if it's the fact that I haven't tried hard enough or if it is because I unrealistically thought I could do too much.
When I really look at it, I'm not exactly heading down a bad path to eventually become somewhat successful, but at this rate it's going to take a long fucking time. I guess my definition of successful would be to own a nice home and vehicle, with the shit I want and alot of friends and free time to do things with friends and family.

To be successful to me is to be free (meaning I don't have to be a cog in the great machine of "Feed the Bank"). If I can't make the money necessary, then I will just walk out my front door and be free. So, in a way, I'm already successful.

I work in the CAD/Architectural printing industry. I'd say 80% of the local landscaping companies have went belly up in the past year. The ones that have survived are making no money and desperate for any little residence job they can get (and bidding at cost to boot) I would definetly pick a different dream not to rain on your parade, I mean, all architectural and related work is very little in quantity right now. But I have noticed landscapers have taken an especially big hit.

I'd like to try out mediocrity someday, it doesn't seem too overwhelming or underwhelming. Simply whelming. Sounds interesting.

That's what's misleading about the word "Successful".
Successful CAN be living in a cardboard shanty, if that's where you want to be. S'why it's such a good word. Fits all walks.

Very, very few people become rich. Give up that dream now. Get educated, a good job, marry, save for a decent house, get house. Have kids and provide for them in a suitable manner. Hope to live comfortably is what you should be shooting for for whatever that means to YOU.

No cause I don't want to hurt anybody. it's more like high expectations, but there is a practical element too. careful planning is of course. still you think it makes so much less sense for things not to happen to you, right? especially if you do the 'right' thing.

An Enzo Ferrari is a dead Italian man. You want a Ferrari Enzo, clearing that up should help for a start.
