homeless.
its better to have more resources than none at all. fat people bother me more personally though because its an easier problem to fix on a personal level than homelessness. just stop eating so much fuckin food ya know

Yea, personally I'd say the fat. But societally, they are both on par. I mean, there are societal and personal issues that push a person to homelessness and obesity, genetic pre-disposition and macro political economics. But on an even playing ground, like, to compare one fate vs the other for the same person who has the same circumstance either way, I think it would be easier to avoid obesity through personal responsibility than homelessness.
What goes into your mouth is more directly your decision generally. But then I have a high metabolism so maybe I am a douche. |

Obviously social, mental, biological, and general 'the cards you were dealt' factors all apply and add exceptions in both scenarios. But generally, fat people bother me more for pretty much the same reasons waves said.
Although, seeing a fat person in the gym really giving it their all and making the effort to be healthy in general fills me with nothing but respect and admiration; it's a tough wall to climb. I'm referring more to the fat people who eat nothing but garbage, sit around all day, and try to justify their weight not being a big issue. It used to be a symbol of wealth, but now it is a symbol of gluttony, overindulgence, and a disregard for one's health.

yeah a rich person is able to buy foods that basically do the dieting for them while po' people are left eating dog food and pure fat
conversely if your born into a rich family or a well off family your chances of being afflicted with homelessness plummet lots of societal shit goin on that influences both epidemics

Aw CT, I totally agree. When I see a chunky person out running, at the gym or just generally giving it somehow, my respect for them is so much greater than just seeing a fit looking person doing upkeep so to speak.

I would have to say homeless. Getting asked for change is annoying and it adds up with $1 and $2 coins. Fat people keep it to themselves.
Although I think there should be taxes on high calorie-low nutrition type foods just like alcohol and tobacco because eventually fat people need hospitals and that comes out of public money.

I've often thought about homeless people and it seems to me that a lot of homeless don't try and do any better for themselves.
We have people freezing to death in Boston when it's cold and I often ask why they don't just walk south. Ignorance? Insanity? I suppose there's a category for all of them, but I think most homeless aren't sound of mind. I know a few homeless people and they are the kindest people I know. One guy that comes to mind isn't always homeless, but is a lot and he's one of the most sincere, hardest working guy I know. I'll have to think more about fat.
