back in the day i often watched a copy of weird al's film uhf that i downloaded off of morpheus. it was subtitled in norweigian, swedish or some similar language and the word "verklingen" stood out to me so i looked it up. i found a couple definitions, one in german which gives the meaning "to die out or fade away," used mainly in writing music. another was from the swedish where it's used, from what i could gather, as a kind of exclamation of disbelief or to express truthfulness (really????/indeed!!!!)

anyhow it sat well with me philosophically and was unique enough that i was sure i could use it anywhere

It was evolution!

I signed on as the421der (the 420 wonder, get it?) oh so many years ago, I dropped the 'the' at some point and was just 421der.

You all started calling me Oneder, which for awhile I was, then you all shortened that up and began referring to me as One.

I wanted to be hip and run with the cool kids back when the special character names were all the rage so I changed it to №1, which evidently I will remain ad infinitum as there seems to be no way to change it.

C'est la vie, and then you go toes up.

I think my name requires little explaination.

I'm simply a lady who enjoys staying as mellow as possible every day. So MellowLady, as a screen name, seemed natural. Come to think of it, I had been self-indentifying as MellowLady in real life circles for a while before I discovered Yahooka and used it here.

its kinda a long story. I got jimmy from a foster kid my friends dad used to hang out with in a "big brother" program. My friend was so jealous of this kid it was crazy. he just hated him and all he knew was his name is jimmy so i took that and then added cube cause thats what my nickname at school was....cause i was "cool" when i would get into fist fights and stayed kinda calm while i pounded on people.

i was a major ass in HS...i grows up a lil sense thenz.

i set a record in highschool wrestling and pinned a kid in 4 seconds. my user name on all my instant messages and emails and stuff is still foursecondpin. then i wanted to tweak it a little bit when i signed up here. and came up with fourtysecondrip. my friends at the time immediately tasked me with backing up my new username. which i did successfully many times. now its kinda like a nick name for me when im smokin with them even to this day. they just call me 40 or something like that if we are fuckin around.
