looks like global warming might be solvable after all

The significance of the study is twofold,” Stuart Licht, a chemistry professor at George Washington University, told PhysOrg.com. “Carbon dioxide, a non-reactive and normally difficult-to-remove compound, can be easily captured with solar energy using our new low-energy, lithium carbonate electrolysis STEP process, and with scale-up, sufficient resources exist for STEP to decrease carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere to pre-industrial levels within 10 years.”

More sciency shit: Solar-powered process could decrease carbon dioxide to pre-industrial levels in 10 years

Another score for science. Even though it could be argued that science is what created global warming in the first place.

Same source, only three years ago:

The prototype device, called the Counter Rotating Ring Receiver Reactor Recuperator (CR5, for short), will break a carbon-oxygen bond in the carbon dioxide to form carbon monoxide and oxygen in two distinct steps. It is a major piece of an approach to converting carbon dioxide into fuel from sunlight.
I reckon a vast majority of scientists just use the huge amounts of taxpayers funding for pretending to be working for years and years on a sophisticated device for which they knew from the very first day it wouldn't work anyway. They probably spent three months sitting around in a board room trying to come up with the name for it before starting any work on a project, like making drawings and computer models and shit...

Where there is someone who wants something, there is someone willing to pay. And where there is someone willing to pay, there is someone hard at work trying to invent the thing said someone wants to pay for.

Liquidity is the Mother of Invention, after all.
