I was thinking about this last night, and I can't even remember when I joined and I've been here a lot longer than I thought... I've recommended a good bit of friends, but no one sticks around? I guess the 2 years I've been here keeps me comin back.

Any ways, how'd you guys hook up with the Almighty YaHooka forums?

I was trying to get to my yahoo mail account. I typed "YA" and pressed enter, and the third search result on Google was yahooka. I was used to grasscity and it looked pretty similar so I figured what the hell and joined.

I was like 13 and googling the shit out of marijuana before I ever tried it. Brought me here, and the(or a) Hot Picture thread made me join, even though I had to wait the month to post in it haha. Had a screen name that I couldn't even begin to try and remember, posted like 4 times and forgot about it. Then I rejoined in 05 and the rest is history.

A friend of mine had told me about Erowid around right before the start of freshman year, and I was really into Erowid at the time. I would look up all kinds of shit and visit the site routinely, I think I had came across a few sites like Totse,Rollitup(or w.e it was called),Grasscity but they all seemed pretty lame. . .Never really trolled them, I guess it was the look of the sites that couldn't hold me down lol.

But yeah I think I googled Yahoo and I found a bunch of articles about Yahoo filing a lawsuit against "Yahooka", thought It was pretty funny so I sought out the Yahooka and well here I am now. I think I did go accountless for a few weeks tho.. .

i was fuckin around at work at this cool job i had doing graphic design for screen printing on t-shirts. i was the dude who did the really basic simple artwork in PS and sometimes i worked in the back room helping the guys with the shirts.

anyways my boss would always find me looking at yahooka and get all pissed. but he was cool cuz he himself was a college dropout stoner. i used to come into work literally still tripping and work in the back folding shirts for like 8 hours. they prolly thought i was baked or hungover or somethin.

yep that was some good times

during lunch breaks we would all gather round the small TV and watch 'cheaters' with joey greco! you guys know cheaters is whats up.

Lunaria started it. She left for awhile, then reappeared for about a year or so in '04, I think. She wanted to create a site that would have listings for all the marijuana related resources of the internet, and the forums were just kind of an extra. The forums, tho, eventually took over all the traffic to the site, and the rest got dropped, finally, not that long ago.

She was pretty cool, but couldn't really hang with the competitive immaturity of FFA, and some of the members. We had some fucked up individuals on then, and since she was a new mother, they were posting shit about raping babies and crap and she just bailed. There was even some talk about shutting down the site before she left.

As for me, I started smoking weed again after many years, and being into the spiritual side of it, I went looking for a board where I could discuss it with others. I had recently joined a men's long hair board (I was growing it out then) and thought they would probably have a something for weed out there. It's just the luck of the draw that I found YaHooka first.

As it turns out, discussing weed isn't even in my top 10 reasons for loving this place.

I found my way here through a little blurb in Maxim magazine's "Best of the Web" section. Put in my time as a poster, mod, admin, took a hiatus and became a family man (always lurked, however) and got active again. I've always loved chat rooms and discussion boards ever since I got on the net.

Yahooka is really unique, it's got that perfect blend of wisdom and irreverence. I used to post at several weed sites, but Yahooka is the only one I always come back to...once it gets in the blood, you're hooked, boyee!

I used to grow and when I couldn't any longer, I wanted someone to talk to about it. I Googled 'marijuana forum', and this came up. I thought the name was funny.

I came here and there was a thread in FFA that I couldn't post in. Waited the 30 days only to find that the thread I was interested in was dead by then.

Almost quit when someone slid in a video of a man and a jar. That grossed me out pretty bad.

I stuck it out though, due to the posts of some pretty extraordinary people here. I'm not leaving.
