some insurance advice needed.

im going to be picking up an 01 dodge ram today or tomorrow, and will need to put insurance on it.

my current situation: my toyota is under my parents name still and under there insurance(cheap reg and insurance, 30 for 2 yrs reg, and like 450 for 6 months of insurance.)

i want to put the ram in my name and get my own cheap liability insurance for it, but not sure if im going to get fcked over, since it will be my first time getting my own insurance under my name, and ive had a couple tickets(only ones that stuck are a squealing tires charge and a couple fixit tickets from cops who didnt like my truck)

what should i do yhka?

edit-
and ill need to keep my yota insured, its going to be hacked up into a tube buggy but if a sheriff stops me on the trail and i dont have insurance it can still be impounded and taken away.
